Well, I'm sure it's very painful to Damien - I just don't feel the pain, the whole story just comes across too private for me. Like, he has a lot to say to this person, but nothing to me - it's raw, yes, but to me it's not so much a song as it is private desk drawer poetry.
I'm not saying it isn't
crafted, it just really needs a lot of work. I find a couple of his new songs are like that, and it is too bad - I hope, if they appear on the forthcoming album, that he'll have given them the twist that
really makes them worth listening to.
