I know you're being facetious because back when the song came out you agreed that it was a silly title. We only kept referring to it that way because people thought it was funny. Now, if you really still want it to be that word then how about we at least spell it the way it might actually be a plausible lyric?
Since the song is about feeling discarded (at one point literally into a wastebasket), a case could be made that it's exactly where "Dear"s (i.e. old love letters) go to be forgotten.
I'm certain, though, that he wasn't referring to cute, fuzzy, woodland creatures.
