Yep, you're right, just use the open high E and barre shaped B and A chords that Damien favours, he tends to use the hammer on of the fret before the octave on the third string if you see what I mean eg if you are playing E open sus thing its 0-7-7-9-0-0 which he then changes to 0-7-9-8-0-0 which is using the maj7 note i believe
