the air did carry the sound
of a thousand singing bells
the winds did blow, quite low
a song of subtle change
bell's voice is rising
even as the ground
begins to shake below
and tear all of me down
i speak to bell heart to heart
too scared to make a sound
i speak to her heart to heart
as if each ounce is a pound
and each pound of my heart it starts
weakening my knees
it flaps the wings of butterflies
and shakes the leaves of trees
kneeling now i plead to bell
in song as best i can
i speak words like rocks
strong and tough
and throw them in the winds
but her sisters song is high
and beautiful in chorus
my words were swirled as if just sand
and landed on the shores.
not rocks nor song or sight or voice
can make me make my bell rejoice
in my minds eye i can tell easily
the answer is the sea
so i sea i made and made it blue
a sprawling, deep ferocious hue
i screamed above her sisters song
'i made this sea for you'
please bell will you love me now
do you think this sea will do?
