Yeah I can imagine, its one of those catch 22 things though, what I like is the simplicity ( well I think thats what I like ! ) of just him and a guitar, not sure if I want to hear him with the full works, but you probably right and it would be fantastic.
i think from his site that on some gigs there is a band with him, on the pics there is a girl singer and a I think it was a gutarist.
he needs to play some other places, all his gigs are in his area, but may be its hard to get gigs where people don't know you
