Glen Hansard and his wonderful band are touring Europe at the moment.
I've been very lucky and I caught them in Antwerp (where I live) on Friday and in Amsterdam on Monday. Both times were incredible.
Javier Mas, who used to be Leonard Cohen's guitarist joined the band and he's a brilliant addition. Both setlists contained 4 Cohen covers, they were breathtaking. He adds depth to the other songs as well.
In Amsterdam Marketa showed up as a special guest during falling slowly and she stayed there for the rest of the set. (Which I think was a lovely surprise, although some of you *Marti* might disagree
)
Colm Mac Con Iomaire opened on both occasions and joined the band during the second part of the set.
