Hi everyone, sorry it's a bit long but I'd love some feedback on it - Marc.
Old George has always known how to please the ladies
They’ve always been charmed by his amazing stories
But he stole them all from a strange man named Guy
That he killed when he threatened to reveal old George’s lies
All the teachers from the law school now gather around
They are looking for apt pupils all over my town
To digest all their lessons and to feed their hungry pride
And now all the kids are searching for safe places to hide
The policemen are nervous, they’re looking for a priest
Who’s known to convince minds with nothing but his fists
The rumour says he’s possessed and enjoys too much wine
But I know that it’s more complex and what is on his mind
My neighbour she’s so greedy, she would sell her soul for gold
She sees herself so pretty and now she’s scared of turning old
And her daughter, she’s ashamed of her mother’s acts and thoughts
She wants to tell but respect keeps the words stuck inside her throat
Poor Harry he’s sweating, he’d love to ask Sara to dance
But she’s thinking about Arthur who’ll soon return to France
To meet Charlotte, his first lover who still surely feels the same
But Charlotte doesn’t speak no more, the wait drove her insane
While sleepwalkers are meeting and kissing beneath the moon
Sad Suzanne, she feels lonely and lost inside her room
She’s sitting by her window, her diary still in sight
She just wrote that for one moment she’d love to feel alive
When Richard declares his love, pretty Jane always laughs
He pretends he’ll cut his wrists for her, she says that it’ll pass
But Richard was not pretending, they’ve just buried him down
And a large crowd was attending while Jane was leaving town
The last train leaves the station for honour or for hell
All the soldiers hold a ticket though none of them can tell
If the beggar is lying when he claims that he has slept
On this bench for ten years and seen no train returning yet
