hey guys anyone have any news about emmett tinley?
maybe on the green Island you get more news than i get here in the ultra neutral switzerland. what about his solo album? is it finished? when will it come out? and will it still be released by this stupid major label? anytihng would make me happy but no news are bad news. rodrigo |

well, the latest i'm aware of is that it's finished. atlantic records were due to have it out about now, but pushed it back until early in 2004. (argh...) i wish there was an e-mail address we could pester to get them to release it sooner. i can't wait to hear it. he played a couple of dates in galway a couple of months ago, so aisling might be able to tell you more. hopefully he'll be doing some more gigs soon. maybe the frames will invite him on their december tour? |

Wow, I don't believe you know Overhead! A friend from Paris sent me a few track and I was so taken with it, I asked him to buy me the CD. It's fantastic! Has a dash of John Martyn influence, too!

jep it has.
they're great even if they're just the second best band of france. |

I've never heard of Saez. Does he sing in English? (I found out that Nicholas Leroux actually lived in London for some time.) Have you ever heard the French band "Air"? I haven't but somebody recommended them.
P.S. "indisputable" it is, I think |

hmmmm air is ok
Saez is god. |

I'll see if I find something by him. (It's harder to find European music on the P2P networks here, because the search algorithms always try the local servers first.) So, are his text in English or French. Because I don't speak French!
I live here, but I'm after all European. I don't have a problem with "anti-American" texts, especially not those of a political nature. |

okay so his lyrics are mixed there are english parts and then others which are french parts.
there are even some great all english songs for example: Isn't It Love 1 (sung by katagena (damien's ooops same name) (katagena is Damien Saez's Lisa)). but download Isn't It Love 1 cause Isn't It Love 2 is a very strange electronic one that only works in the album context. another all english song is: "light my way" ohh what a pretty love song. but you've to know that these english songs are the simplier ones, the english songs are mostly love songs. i guess it's harder to write a political or society critical text in a foreign languge so he writes them in french. But even if you don't get what he's saying his music is more than moving. But lyrics are still the most important here. |

sounds great.
never heard anything about the birth, but then it's natural for me to push back the release. (it's even the only right thing to do, and a lot of people don't do it) |

The release has been pushed back by Atlantis because they have "so many other releases in September," when the album was originally supposed to come out. Just label bullsh*t.
Casper was born last year and none of it is his fault |

alright.
so that sounds worse than what i guesed. well that bullsh*t happens to many good bands and artists with or without major labels it happend to Keith Caputo, to Black Lab, to the Red House Painters so Emmett is has some great other artists who went through the same sh*t. (some didn't even release the stuff afterwards) |

Well, his label rep is a fan, so I guess the release will happen.
P.S. Don't even say such things! *pulls out garlic to ward off record label vampires* |

hmmm if it happens will do the same as some painters fans did i heard they spended money to buy old reamons (red house painter album)right back from to label and so the red house painters could get it out on sub pop (3 years after it's first indicated release date)
