Press Review of Borgata
Hello fellow Eskimos,
Here is a review of Damo's stint at Borgata: David Garza and Rice opened for Apple, and Rice did a more interesting take on the sensitive male singer-songwriter genre, which regained popularity with acts like John Mayer and James Blunt. Rice, a native of Ireland, played with a celloist and a woman who sang lead, harmony and backup vocals for his five-member group. He attracted his own contingent of fans to the show. He sang the first word to his song “Cold Water,” and a woman started screaming. You couldn't even hear a whisper as he did his tune “Eskimo.” His more conventional performance probably pleased some of the audience more than Apple's. Ah poor journalism, the staple diet of the modern world. I got a good laugh reading about the "celloist".
I wouldn't mind hearing that version of 'Stand By Me' though.
