I first discovered Jeremy watching the movie The Unites States of Leland. Great movie, many should see it. Anyway, its his pop/acoustic sound that attracted me and to my disappointment, there was no soundtrack released. Jeremy was first with the band Sunny Day Real Estate and now I think is with The Fire Theft. He also released a solo album which is a bit odd, but ok. To hear some of his music from Leland go to the site at the bottom, great acoustic songs. Choose from 3 on the top right side. And I must say, after listening to Damien for so long, I've become fond of the chello and guitar together. http://www.paramountclassics.com/leland/main.html

thanks for the link! i'm not a huge fan of the fire theft, so it's nice to hear jeremy enigk doing somethingdifferent. it's reminiscent of sunny day real estate's the rising tide, butpared down and not so much about religion. sunny day real estate'sdiary is the albumthat moved my musical tastesaway from the trulyawful sh*t i listened to in high school. i saw them in concert twice in minnesota before they broke up and actually had a chance to talk to enigk because the venues were so small. super nice guy. i also have a sneaking fondness for his solo project, return of the frog queen, partially because it's a fun guessing game to try to figure out his more garbled lyrics, but mostly because the climax in "shade and the black hat" is one of my favorite 15 seconds of music ever.
