just one word: STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!! I think Lisa looks more beautiful than ever (that neck...) and the video really fits the song... I know it's not 100% original (ehem*No Suprises*ehem) but I'd rather watch Lisa than Thom Yorke :-)

i´m glad i´m not the (crazy) one that pay attention to necks, hehe. and lisa has a beuatiful neck indeed but her eyes at the end of the video really scared me, he.

Maybe it was said elsewhere in the forum.
Can someone tell me what are the conclusions of your discussions ? Do you recon in this song Lisa speaks to Damien.
Those lyrics make me think this beautiful song talks about him :
"You are lonely as a church, despite the queuing out your door".
"I was salted by your hunger, now you've gone and lost your appetite"
This song and the video (Mister Myles O'Reilly is really talented) are so beautiful, it gives me the chill (and a few tears I must admit...) thinking that Lisa wrote this song to Damien.

I dont mind speculation about song meanings and such, but can we just agree that Lisa is a 30 year old woman who has more than likely had plenty of experiences worthy and stimulating enough to inspire songs, and have nothing to do with damien? I mean i get it, a huge chunck of her artist life is indisputably linked to him, but i refuse to believe that's all she ever writes about...

i think nobody could say the opposite, to be honest... and i think she made it very clear so far

Off course Mariaoran, but still Damien is Damien, they aren't so many guys of this type. You and me wouldn't be on this forum if Damien hadn't been their. Even Lisa, I'm not sure, even being so talented, wouldn't be in the situation she is without him. Don't misunderstand me, I'm big Lisa fan but still…

Yeah this is true but It's different from what I said. I'm saying that with every Lisa song that has been talked about on this forum, there is always speculation of it being about Damien -- something which I find kind of hard to believe. Five years and two beautiful albums later, I think her work deserves some consideration beyond mr. Rice even if we are in this forum. But it's just my opinion so carry on...

Agreed.
She has been more open in admitting to writing about Damien with this album, though..
And she did say it was about him in the Hot Press interview, which - despite it's faults (that ass Olaf wouldn't let up on her!)- gave some insight to things many fans have been curious about.

I've read other recent interviews where she talks about him with more ease - and also somewhat positively.

I'll see if I can find them.

why I didn't know about the HotPress interview!!!!!!! Very interesting read indeed

while some songs might be about Damien, I agree with what Maria says, in the sense that Lisa knows many more people to write about, you can read the lyrics of Paper House and think oh it's about Damien cos it mentions Dublin but maybe it's about some boy she knew when she was 7 years old

Thanks a lot Agent99 for the Hotpress link.
Of course I'd (we'd ?) be interested by the other recent articles where she talks about Damien.

Talks about him at the end here a bit. Nothing all that special....just like I said, it seems like she does it with more ease- less anxiety - now that some time has passed (and maybe because they've actually talked now).

You're welcome =)

I'm obviously just speculating but since she did say they had been in touch - I would think it would put her more at ease to talk about him after speaking to him again. When you're just not speaking, and without any closure, it's probably far more awkward to know how to refer to someone or your past relationship with them, when asked.
