which Frames board are you talking about Angela? i don't see anything on theframes.ie board about it yet. btw, the gig was f**king brilliant 2:15. Lisa sang on about 3-5 songs i think, including a cover of Mic Cristopher's "Skylarkin". she was standing just to my right along the wall all night, singing in my ear (well not directly in my ear mind you, but , made it even that much more amazing i'm goiong to try and get somewhat of a setlist together later. the did 2 Pixies covers (Where Is My Mind? & Gigantic (w/ glen on bass), a Wild Oldham cover "tomorrow's too long", and a bunch of other great stuff btw "the Wheels" were a great opener! lisa was the only member of Damien's band that i saw all night though to be honest, but if anyone i would have liked to see there, i'd say it'd the lovely ms. hannigan . How you survived thatin one pieceI'll never know Well, you know...it's Chicago, not Ireland, so there are only brief mentions on the Frames board: one is here: http://fake.theframes.ie/v4/comm/msg...layMessage.php ?lparent_thread=26270&lchild_thread=0 and the other is here: http://fake.theframes.ie/v4/comm/msg...layMessage.php ?lparent_thread=26255&lchild_thread=0 Just reading the set list made me cry! I wish I would have been there! Sounds just beyond fantastic, you lucky SOB |

with the help of that setlist, i'm sure the order isn't 100% correct, but i know bits and pieces of it are very much correct, they def opened w/ Santa Maria, and the trio of pavement tune, revelate, and where is my mind? is definitely correct, as that's when the show really blew itself wide open (imo) lisa sang on like 3-5 songs i believe, and was singing along out in the crowd almost all night (she was standing right next to my friend and i along the wall) santa maria plateau (jane says tag) happy what happens when the heart just stops locusts pavement tune revelate where is my mind? (the pixies) finally caution to the birds lay me down seven day mile friend and foe keepsake (main set ended with this, i'm pretty sure) the blood (glen solo) fake (ring of fire tag) fitzcarraldo new partner (will oldham) skylarkin (mic christopher) (lisa & glen on vocals) down to the river to pray (lisa solo vocals) star star (pure imagination tag) devil town (w/ the wheels) out on the weekend (neil young) gigantic (the pixies) **** btw, the wheels, which was members of damien & the frames road crew's opening setlist was: Revolution (The Beatles) Southern Man (Neil Young) I Feel Fine (The Beatles) ? (another Beatles song i thought?) Edited by: solace |

grrrrrrrrrrrrr..... glen was going to do skylarkin' for me(as per my request) in detroit the other night, but it wasn't the right crowd for it at all... then lisa was all excited about it and dammit, of course they do it when i'm not there... hahaha... even after i told lisa that she couldn't do it without me there and that she was only ever allowed to sing in a closet if i'm not there... oi oi oi...
i neeeeeeeeeeed to see a frames headlining gig... grrrr alas, glad you all had fun... jealous jealous jealous |

What sort of song is "Devil Town?" I'm assuming you don't mean "Dance the Devil (down)." Not that it really matters considering the extraordinariness of the gig, I was just curious, and you (who had the great good fortune to be there) seem to know your Frames.

'Devil Town' is a Daniel Johnston ( http://www.hihowareyou.com/) cover they've been doing for well over a year now. You can hear that song on the video that is streaming on their new label's web site: http://www.anti.com/artist.php?id=86705 (where it says "01/29/04 See video of The Frames performing live on Irish TV") <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=1> <T> <TR> <TD vAlign=top align=left></TD> <TD width=10></TD> <TD></TD></TR></T></TABLE> |
