Passenger is such a great album. I've listened to all the songs many times now and I've noticed that I only skip one song(What'll I'll Do). I never usually like all the songs on an album!

i´m so into "little bird" song. i really really like it especially "you are lonely as a church, despite the queuing out your door" line, i so feel like that many many times.
but, i´d like to know what "for once" means in "I think of you often but for once I meant what I said", cause it doesn´t make too much sense in spanish. is it sort of "for the record"?

No, it's more of a way of saying this time she actually meant what she said, unlike the other times. It's kind of a "this one time only" type of expression.... In spanish it would be something like "esta vez si quise decir lo que dije"

re This time I meant what I said
If A is going out with B and A says it's over then changes their mind and they go out again for a while then A says it's over again and then later to clarify that it is definitely over says "this time i meant what I said ".
Previously it was an unsure decision but now it is a sure and unchangeable one Usually good for A who decides and not for B who is trying to get back but only time will tell . Hope that helps Last edited by Black Eyed Dog; 10-11-2011 at 07:55 PM. |

thank you very very much that´s what i though at first, but then i thought that could mean something different (which would make more sense to me... a non-english speaker, he), so i thought of asking. thanks again.

Passenger is doing really well in the UK... it's top 40 in the UK Albums Charts in the first set of midweeks... probably will drop by Sunday but top 75 would be nice

nop. It's itunes UK only apparently. US Itunes has 'Oh Undone' and 'Blow the Wind' as bonus songs for purchase.

oh loving Flowers, hopefully someone will up the studio version to Youtube or something why didn't this make the album? I'd rather have this one instead of Safe Travels for instance

Well 'Blow The Wind' is a cover of a trad song, so i can see why she wouldn't put it on the album... And wasn't Braille already released? Why do I think it was ?
And no way Marti, I like Safe Travels too!

It drives me nuts when artists do this, to be honest. Some songs only available in some countries through specific retailers....

Especially as I think that the strange effect of this marketing strategy is eventually that people who bought it (because they could) put that stuff on youtube so everybody can download it which means the artist actually loses money that way. Also, it really annoys me that the bonus tracks are often album only tracks on itunes or amazon. If I've already bought a physical copy of an album I don't need or want to buy it a second time. It's quite a rip off imho...

^a total rip off for sure
so Blow the Wind is that folk song that we called Blow The Wind Southerly that she did a few times during the 9 tour?

You'd think that they'd be offered digitally through the band's official website, right?
I mean, I got my preorder package with my physical album copy and my lithograph (which I love!), so it's like... I don't want to then go onto iTunes and buy "Oh Undone" for $1.30 and then go onto Amazon and buy "Blow The Wind" for another 99c, and while I'd love to be able to get "Flowers" - my favorite of all the new songs - it's not available anywhere in the US. I get that there's probably some licensing deal that she maybe can't work around, but it happens with pretty much every musician now (The Swell Season and Josh Ritter did it with their most recent album, for example). This has become one of my biggest peeves with buying music. |

and it's worst for Continental-Europeans... we cannot access neither UK or US Itunes so we cannot buy even if we want... and we couldn't get that litography either

Same goes for the lithograph, as Marti already mentioned.
