I just saw that "Passenger" is available for pre-order in Norway, as an import from ATO Records. if anyone's interested in having a look the link is here: http://www.platekompaniet.no/Musikk....id=ATRD17422.2
I've always been a Damien fan and I've never seen Lisa perform, but I'm quite excited to see/hear how this record turns out. I'm looking forward to hearing "Knots" in particular. ![]() |

haha I would generally find the news that the record will be released earlier in the US as, you know, good, but not so much now... By then I'll be in Spain. It's still exciting though!
Vere I think the release date thing might just be due to her having to do more promotion and gigs in Ireland and europe in general as supposed to the US. they might just be getting this part of the world out of the way for this year. Also who knows what kind of contract they have with their American record company : )

^ yes, i guess so... but i still don´t like the idea and regarding contract´s duties... you´re probably right, but i, personally, think it´s because the power of the most poweful people... but, we still have amazing news!

Oh speaking of, from her Facebook:
Just to explain, the reason the record is coming out a month earlier in the states is because we already work with ATO records, so they are ready to go. It's taken us a little longer to get ourselves sorted for everywhere else. Just in case anyone was wondering x They obviously read the igloo... hah!

'A Sail' is the first single... love the song, but it's a bit disappointing for a lead-off single:

Thanks very much for the info and the link!
![]() I agree with you about A Sail being the lead-off single for Passenger, then again I wonder what I would think if I hadn't heard the song a thousand times before... Lisa and her management definitely have a point when they ask people to remove videos of unreleased material from youtube... Although I have to admit that A Sail has never really blown me away. From what I've heard of the new material I'd say that Flowers is my current favourite though it wouldn't make for a good lead-off single either. But Knots would be great! I wonder if there will be a video for A Sail...

Oh man I am so excited that she decided to put " A Sail" on her album. Ever since I heard it live, I fell in love with it.
I can't wait for her new album. I finally get to see her live in Vancouver in October! Yay!! |

Hey!
Just listened to the album-version of A Sail and I love it. I think her voice is a little bit hoarsely (i hope this is the right word....I mean this is how you say when you've got a flu and a sore-throat, right?) but I really like that. I'm sure they'll do a video for A Sail, since it's the first release, really looking forward to that! And I also like this a lot: “Many of [the songs] were written while I was away from home or on the road, and the feeling of transience and nostalgia that this constant traveling evoked seemed to seep into every song, ” Hannigan says in a press release.

I definitely prefer the piano version (= live version) to the studio version though they are not that different - and as I couldn't detect the keyboards on the studio version could it be that you meant the glockenspiel played with a bow as Donagh does in the video? What I liked about the studio version though is that it sounded sort of raw and not too processed. I was pleasently surprised by that because Lisa once said of Sea Sew that she liked that it sounded raw and squeaky whereas I always felt that Sea Sew was a little too flat (nevertheless a superb album, don't get me wrong!). And I agree with riotana about Lisa's voice sounding a little hoarse which I really like because it gives Lisa's vocals a nice edge. Anyway, I am really excited to hear the studio versions of the other songs, especially Little Bird and Knots! ![]()

No, it's like, instead of a piano, Gavin's playing some sort of keyboard/organ/something electronic, and it's just so sleepy sounding. |

Just now, while on Amazon pre-ordering, I stumbled upon the full album preview and tracklisting for 'Passenger' (no Flowers?)... you have to organize the songs by Release Date to listen:

^ didn't even notice the pictures - lovely!
There's also a new biography up, which actually is what brought me to that page... she's got some interesting things to say about 'Sea Sew', and the album cover is explained. Quote:

![]() The new songs are breathtakingly beautiful (especially Little Bird, Home and O Sleep) and Lisa is absolutely right to allow herself the "luxury" to call herself a songwriter now. Sea Sew was great, and Passenger is ****ing brilliant, though I was surprised that Flowers apparently didn't make it onto the album whereas she'll coverBlow the Wind southerly. Then again, maybe the girl pulled a Damien and put a hidden trank on the album... ![]() Quote:
And this one I like as well: ![]() Love her smile!
