Any jeff fans around here? If so, his birthday is coming up nov. 17th. If you dig (or really dig) his music, play a song(s) of his on his birthday. If you don't know him, look him up and find a song of his that you like and play it on the 17th (lilac wine, jallelujah, lover..., last goodbye, grace...there's so much great stuff!). If you don't like him, play his songs all the same. Anyway, this is my little tribute toHim...despite that whole battle of the bands thing...

To the man who is my Elvis...

yeah... chris [dello]

have defo. felt like more than one.
just depends on the situation.
lots of very true stuff that he put so eloquently.

did you see my other posts on david hopkins? (he's on the links page on the main eskimo site) - anyway... really think if you love jeff... you'll love david. his stuff is also heartbreakingly, achingly good.
try out the mp3 i just posted on the main page... 'i can't speak your name' with noe venable (incredible bay areabased songstress).

make sure to post back and let me know what you think.

and hey... what about you? and which song(s)?

Hey cat,

Yea, i went to the main DH website but the song you suggested was only in lyrics, not on mp3 unless i looked at the wrong place, but yea, i read them and they arevery moving words. You said Bay area, I got relatives close to frisco (San Jose actually), but I digress. So feeling like one of Jeff's songs...I feel like my whole life is a big Jeff Buckley soundtrack (overstated, but thats how I feel- take it or leave it). Lately however I feel like the song "what will you say" - its like a call to arms for me, that i have to do something bigger and better so that I don't get lost in this world. Other than that, I try to sing satisfied mind to keep me satiated.

oh... the song is up on the main page... under the 'dispatch/news' header.

on the sidebar there area a few more. you should check out 'jackson' and the others too. jackson slays me.

i hear you on the soundtrack thing. def. can understand that.
really great songs both. 'what will you' is so moving. sad. satisfied mind is great too. definitely the way to go. i think most everyone has the need to do the bigger and better. make a mark. you know. that's a good thing... that need. i think, anyway.

so yeah... check out the other lyrics of mr. hopkins. some really brilliant stuff. 'i am disappearing' is also a favorite of mine... oh... actually i think it's called 'silver river' now.

If you´re into Jeff Buckley, check out American band called Ours. If you havn´t already, I´m sure a few of you know them. Apparently, frontman Jimmy Gnecco was a friend of Jeff and he has the same haunting voice.

I'm a huge Jeff Buckley fan as well! I'll definitely be playing Dido's Lament on his birthday!

Remember me, but ah, forget my fate

Ours is great too! Both their albums are amazing!Jimmy Gnecco used to be Jeff's guitar tech if I'm not mistaken. His voice is awesome indeed! Although not as good as Jeff's of course

If you want to check out ours I'd recommend you download the song Fallen Souls... awesome stuff!

He'll always rule! I don't think anyone will ever surpass his brilliance (for me, that is..), although Damien does get kinda close...
