how does damien rice's music move you?
I can safetly say that from the moment i bought 'O' in 2003 i was hooked. I can't get enough. I've downloaded every live version i could find and watched every video clip i could muster. He has touched me with his music in a way that is irriversible. When i listen to 'O' it's a mixture of woe and of joy. I am also a singer/songwriter and i have done all that i can to move people with my music. I don't try to sound like Damien Rice, because that would be a mistake on my part. I'm trying my best to not sound like a crazed stalker of his, but i would do just about anything to have a conversation with him... I just want to know what his music does for other people...

I love Damien. My friend introduced me to him back in '04 and instantly I fell in love. Then I introduced my bf to Damien, at first he didn't really like him because he likes hip-hop and rap more, but now he claims to be a bigger fan of Damien than me. I've listened to his songs for a million times and I still love it as if I'm hearing it the first time. He is totally refreshing. I've been online dl all songs of his I can find, too. I just love him.

Welcome!
to answer your question...i can't say it really moves me, since i'm not much of a dancer, but its nice to hear the emotions carried out through each song, line, verse, etc. He's very passionate, its inspiring.

I don't know how he does it, but I knew I was hooked when I listened to his album in like early 2005 and found myself in tears just by hearing him. He ALWAYS does that to me, somehow.

Speaking of music moving people - have you heard the live version of Face where he breaks into Kiss by Prince (or the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince)? Fan-freaking-tastic!
I can't even explain how Damien Rice "moves" me. I think I have a special attachment to him b/c his is the only music I've ever really discovered for myself without being influenced by friends or family. And now I'm getting them all hooked one by one... |

Let's just say it moved me... TO A BIGGER HOUSE.
Uh-oh, I said the quiet part loud and the loud part quiet.

Devoncorley, I completely agree. I went to the Fiona Apple concert where Damien opened for her and all I wanted to do was catch him after the show and let him know how much his music has touched my life. He's been able to phrase specific emotions so well that you really feel understood. He is absolutely amazing.

[quote=SisterMidnight]ooh that sounds pretty.. what does the last part mean in spanish? i think the first part is 'welcome to the igloo' but i'm not sure.. in fact 'verenita from argentina' sounds pretty.. you're a very pretty sounding person overall i'd say!
hello nice to meet you well... thanks!!... and the last part, yes... it´s like "no matter -whatever- language you speak" by the way, i´ll tell you i fell in love with damien (he is too cute) in 2003, when i heard "blower´s daughter" at dawson´s creek episode... such a good song!!... verenita (in fact, my real name is verena) |
