I hope you can make it! I'm very excited for Saturday. I'm so happy tickets were available through her site instead of stupid ticketmaster... my Emiliana tickets through Ticketmaster cost about $20 more for the same priced tickets as Lisa's.

I bought 2 tickets thru her site and I had to go thru ticket ripoffmaster and they charged $20 in fees.I should have taken a chance and waited to buy them the night of the show!

Just got back from the LA show! They were amazing, as always...
They also did a cover of Air's Playground Love (from the Virgin Suicides). Regarding Drummy Drummy/Cup of Tea song... they placed this, and introduced it as Cup of Tea! I think by the end of the song though it became known as... Secrets and Stones, I believe? It looks like the played the exact same songs as in San Francisco, but in slightly different order. |

I just got back from martyrs in Chicago
Such a feckin cool chick Such a feckin cool venue Such a feckin cool vibe Such afeckin cool opener The low anthem is incredibly eclectic. Theyvsre going to be the best band of 2010. They sound like neil young, bob Dylan, cohen, ray lamntagne, and and new type of antique fusion rolled into one fatty spliff of a band highlights were def cigarettes and whiskey, this goddamn house and cajun something. They use extremely old instinents and then play them through a cellbpgone rely to add distortions and looping. They are the most ironic band in America. Oh my god Charles Darwin Lisa rocked my world I now understand why teenage girls cried when the beatles came to the US. She is cooler than being cool. She's ice cold. Everything off the album sounded so funky and the grooves were hot and you could tellvshe was enjoyingvthe shut out of it. Tom thumbs blues was killer Lady is a tramp would make frank so proud. Free til they cut me down was smooth But the highlight of the show was sea sew and the enormous smile lisa had on her face while singing songs she wrote which gave me butterflies in my stomach. Tomo was sooo solid And shane was funny making faces at una and tomo the entire time he still kept the bass tight as ****e. Sea song jam was nasty. So was ocean and a rock. Please do your ears a favor and get all three of the low anthems albums on itunes. I talked for a wgile them after lisas set and they were so cool and DTE. I am bummed it is over. |

The Toronto show was fantastic!! Lisa and the boys were in great form and seemed really happy to be there. Minus a few moronic chatterboxes in the back, the crowd was fantastic and really egged them on. I think they were a bit taken aback by how loud we were at cheering (especially for Tomo).
Our setlist was pretty much perfect: Venn Diagram Pistachio Splishy Splashy Sea Song My Pirate Disco (so glad we got to hear this one!) Playground Love (Air cover) Courting Blues (Nick Drake (?) cover) Teeth Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues (Bob Dylan cover) Ocean and a Rock Droney Drummy (<-- that's what was on the setlist) aka Secrets in Stone I Don't Know Lille --------------------------------- Lady and the Tramp (Babes in Arms cover) Keep It All Free Until They Cut Me Down (Iron & Wine cover) Lisa even got a few gifts tonight. Someone brought her special Irish potato chips that she was incredibly happy to have. And someone else brought down an advent calender that they used to count down to Lisa' show... they saved the last piece of chocolate for Lisa herself Lisa's a bit under the weather, so Gavin brought her tea. I've got pictures and video, which I'll get up soon! The Low Anthem were really good too! When they get into the bluesier stuff in their sets, they're pretty spellbinding. I can't wait to see them with Ray LaMontagne now. |
