Being sort of the modest guyi am, im going to use this post, that happened to be on top, to introduce myselfso i dont have to start a new topic... Im @win, 34 year old musicfreak from Amsterdam. I saw Damien Rice at the Paradiso in Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago (my first time! and what a premiere it was!!) and went off to Dublin the day afterand went to see 2 Counting Crows shows in thatcity, so there's another musical passion of mine... Well for now thats all i can think of. Oh i was introduced toDamiens music by Mojopin1980 on the dutch counting crows msg board. Im surehehangs aroundhere as well. We'll see... @ (thanx Rosie for lettin me use your thread)Edited by: megamad |

My second, but it blew me away too - much more so than the first one I went to in Utrecht. What'd you think of Josh Ritter? (that's if you were able to hear anything of him over everyone talking through his set) |

sezmo, i loved Josh Ritter, i was very close to the stage so i got to hear it pretty well. i think the unamplified last song was really cool...from where i stood the whole place was silent by that time...i will visit Josh when he comes to the paradiso the 27th of may; it's a full band thingy then, im curious how thats gonna work out... and marina mojo is doin fine i guess, had some 'argument' about paul mccartney with him on the dccn (dutch cc nest) msg board, so he's healthy CC was pretty cool in dublin, especially the second show (where i was up front)...good rockin stuff...first show was more mellow, but i sat in the upper circle and for me that was not the best spot in the room. CC played last week in holland as well (oh and i saw mojo there btw!), really cool show (same set as dublin 1, but more inspired i think...) |

Hi everyone, I guess I'm also going to freeload off Rosie's thread to introduce myself! I've been listening to Damien Rice for an entire week. He's really a talented songwriter. I picked up a copy of a magazine in a train which featured an article about young new talents. The article started off with: "Today, nearly everyone has an opinion on the music industry...," and basically concluded that if you're fed up with it, "here's Damien Rice." I think it is true, Damien Rice is a much needed respite from all we hear on the radio. |
