No madhat181, I didn't. I was bummed but with this new tour announcement I feel much better. Also the Indianapolis show isn't too far from Chicago so I'll definitely be making it to both!

Thanks for posting the link, but 2 things are terribly wrong there (unless the website belongs to the taper). It's not your fault, of course, but you know I really hate when people does these kinds of things.

This is the same recording as the one shared on dime (check here for info -> http://www.eskimofriends.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=17454)

First, they never mentioned the taper, they just appropiated the recording
And second, they shared an mp3 download linK. It was stated very clear: *** DO NOT DISTRIBUTE IN LOSSY FORMATS. DO NOT SELL THIS RECORDING, TRADE IT FREELY ***

if someone is sharing their recording -which they don't have to, really- the least you could do is respect them and whatever rules they want to set.

it's the same as when people post pictures from a gig without mentioning the photographer

It's not my recording but why is it a big deal to share it on mp3? Why even make that rule? It's on the Internet.

Also dime and torrents are dead everything should move to Dropbox or mega. And I think if it's in the Internet it's open season. My 2 punts.

I personally agree that dropbox/mega is the way to go... but at the same time, if someone goes to the effort to tape a gig, work on it afterwards etc and specifically asks for the gig not to be distributed via mp3, I think we should respect that... and for instance share it by pm as alternative
