Default Dallas show on Yahoo live - Aug 12

I know it's a month away but I just saw this and screamed to myself so I have to share it with you guys

Aug 12, 2015, 10:00 p.m. ET South Side Ballroom, Dallas, TX
https://screen.yahoo.com/live/event/damien-rice

The great thing about these streams is that they have great quality and loop for about 24 hours, so people in Europe can catch it the next day if you don't want to stay up

Awesome! Good find!

Now I don't feel so bad about not extending my Red Rocks trip to go to the Dallas show.

TANGENT: The 13 year old interview they have posted there is pretty interesting (it has 4 parts).

I think they're using his guitar mic for the audio and not the PA/amp mic. So when he uses his distortion, it sounds odd.

Seems like he's in a good mood though. Great story before Elephant, not sure I've heard that one before.

Also, QUIET audience during the songs. Yay!

Definitely prefer that volcano over the crowd participation ones.

But yeah your right. Something is up with the audio feed.

love the encore LLW/Rootless/TBD, with LLW done with the Icelandic girl on cello and the weird guy on harmonium

setlist according to setlistfm
Cannonball
Delicate
Elephant
9 Crimes
Trusty and True
The Box
I Remember
The Greatest Bastard
Volcano
I Don't Want to Change You
It Takes a Lot to Know a Man
Encore:
Long Long Way
Rootless Tree
The Blower's Daughter

Awesome show! That version of volcano was amazing!! And I'm glad I finally got to hear rootless tree live! The man in front of me shouted for him to play stoic but I don't think he heard. And I don't think he would've played it anyway since he's still a little protective of it. My friend and I were lucky enough to sit behind someone with their phone above their head the whole show and in front of some people who decided to take it upon themselves to "harmonize" with Damien on 9 crimes, among others. But other than that, fantastic show.

He came out after like an hour and a half and talked to everyone for a bit, but you could tell he wasn't feelin it. People kept asking over and over for pictures and autographs even though he said a few times he didn't like to do that. Just the usual where are ya'll from, basically filler chat until he could get outta there. I'm sure it's annoying that people wait after every show, but I still want to :P

He also said he was coming back to the states for 2 dates in November. Wonder where those will be...

haha that was me and maria almost knocked my head off for even uttering it....and granted it was a weak attempt at the wrong time

and glad that wasn't you on the fecking sing along .... I am just glad we were having such a nice time but definitely impacted pretty bad on a couple occasions since we were directly in front of them....what is annoying is I think they are actually decent fans cuz they showed knowledge but apparently taht made them better than everyone around them

i do agree he was coming off the red rocks buzz and in a good mood - altho a couple times he was a little forced almost like an awkward ryan adams moment haha - but totally minimal

overall just stellar - love me some south side ballroom - imho much better than pritzker where we saw him last as this stuff is just simply so much better indoors. still lamenting luzern.

for me highlights were nine crimes just incredible and one of the best i can recall, I remember just cuz, completely agreed on volcano was great, was really happy to get I don't want since I am pretty sure we didn't get this last in chicago and then of course an amazing end to the set.

i also like how his encores are so powerful - i am going to tell mondo DG's encores have really started to suck....tonight it was just awesome - bringing on the support for long long way another total highlight and then responding to the rootless tree request. i don't mind the acoustic blower's - kinda like just doing something fun with babylon.

overall great night - we grabbed a drink after and were canvassing the back but we got that feedback on the tired ..... let me tell you behind the south side ballroom there sure ain't any secret garden in red rocks lmfao!

sorry to miss the next two but life calls ... till the next

Still worth a shot for stoic. I commend you for that!

That most certainly was not us singing crazy parts during songs! I agree about them being fans and I think it's totally normal for people to want to sing along at concerts. But if you're gonna do it, don't ruin it for the people around you by making s*** up and being really loud.

There were so many empty seats tonight too. Sad that scalpers buy them all up and then try to charge outrageous prices when there were lots of people in GA that would've bought those seats.

mmmmm hear ya but we were in the friend and family section so who knows what the deal is with those seats.....for example that nobber to the left of me was apparently a music critic with dallas morning news - they gave him two tickets he used one and left after three songs.......was complaining about how depressing damo is from the moment we met...arsehole

going to see if there is a review tho!!! he told me they pay him $150 so will be interesting to see if he phoned one in ..... not gonna let him get away with that haha!

sorry we didn't get the opportunity..........next dallas show - in 2020 lol!

I didn't stay up to watch but I caught some of it on the reruns this morning.

Long Long Way with Gyda & Shahzad was nice.
It made me realise that I'd prefer a couple of extra musicians (or maybe just one) playing with him instead of the loops. I think he's overusing them at the moment. Love the loops in It Takes a Lot, but in I Remember and 9 Crimes, they kinda ruin the song for me. (It might just be me, 'cause I remember reading that most of you love 'em)

They're playing it in loops. So you join in at a certain moment during the gig. (for me it started with The Box)
