Well, I was secretly hoping that pre-orders would arrive early, and secretly worried i wouldn't get my copy because I just moved into a new apartment last weekend and the name tag on my mail box had not been changed until this morning ;-)
But I suppose the album hasn't been lost in the mail then :-D

usually the physical shipment is synchronised so that you get it at home on release day, but of course, we all know how the post office works so you might get it this Friday or next week or in February 2019 or yesterday if you're lucky

What !? Nooooo...
Ha ha I wish !!! I was just trying to find the lyrics for "Snow". And then I got carried away a little in Photoshop while I was at it. Is my pic looking *that* convincing ? Like it was a scan of the booklet (oh I sooooo hope there is a booklet with the lyrics) ? You're trying to compliment me there ??? So the lyrics looks ok, I didn't do too many mistakes you think ? |

Ha ha I know I cling to "songlike treasures" for now !
Then again there is this journalist that thinks it's "song like treasure" while, indeed, this other thinks it's "sunk like treasure"... We'll know tomorrow heh ! If there is a booklet with lyrics that is, or if they update her website with a lyrics section... What gave me the most trouble was the "contour line"... I hope I got this right. Anyway, until we get the official lyrics : It is "songlike treasures" for me |

That's so lame,I just got the notification that the album has shipped. I won't get it for a while then, what's the point of pre-ordering then? Oh well, at least I got the digital copy a few days ago.

I was hoping it would be standard procedure that the official store offers a free digital copy of the album with a vinyl (or CD) order. It's a shame that doesn't seem to be the case. Their help section also states that non-UK deliveries can take 10-14 days. :-( |

I didn't preorder, so I'm streaming till next week. I'll be in Dublin for a day and decided to pick up my copy when I'm there. So far I'm really loving the album. I'm not sure what to think of Barton though. It's nice, but maybe a little too much Portishead and not enough Lisa? I dunno. Last edited by carrroline; 08-19-2016 at 09:41 PM. |

The parcel wasn't supposed to be collectable until today, but I'm travelling this morning and won't be back for a week, so I made friends with the depot guy and he got it for me
So much love for this record - I was poring over the lyrics last night. Funeral Suit and Ora were faves from pre-album gigs and youtube videos, but I love Undertow and all the other different sounding ones as well. I know what you mean Caroline, but I'm really liking the new sound!

Yeah!
And it is 'sunk like treasure' - was the first thing I checked on the lyrics booklet!

I only pre-ordered on iTunes. Does the hard copy have lyrics? They are so hard to figure out. I really have been listening to it nonstop because I love every song except Prayer for the Dying. I'm going to listen to the live version again because I might like it more.

thanks Caro of those lyrics!!!! personally I cannot get Lisa's accent, I think I would understand more words if she sang in Chinese

No worries.
I actually couldn't figure out the 'bleach me to silver' line myself. Found some help on this website, they've tried to write down the lyrics of all the new songs: http://genius.com/albums/Lisa-hannigan/At-swim |

Is it just me or did her lyrics change in terms of being more poignant and more opaque at the same time? I seem to see a difference to Sea Sew and Passenger, the lyrics seem to be shorter and, of course, darker and less playful. But I like it, and I think there's not one bad song on At Swim! Especially like Ora and can't stop listening to it! :-D

Ora, Fall and We the Drowned are my favs right now
Prayer is still the weakest link for me, and kinda kills the album being song #2
