i was just thinking the opposite. i like the idea of damo touring the states but i seriously doubt the album is finished and that means another delay on the album. i really hope i'm wrong *sighs*

I dissagree. O was so long ago, he has to be promoting something with this tour, so I think a suprise release around early June.

I've read a couple different online articles about Damo saying pretty matter of factly that the new album will hit around the middle of the year, so I wouldn't worry too much

Don't you usually have label mates touring together? Fiona is on Sony USA. So, will Damien's supposed album be a US release (else, why tour here!).
And IF there is a US release, why not tour as a headliner? I say no album! There is no reason for Damien to not headline if he tours behind a new album. It could be a warm-up tour, though (like the Frames' double headline with Damien - back in ..... was it 1903? )

If it winds up being a double-headlining tour, which some source says it is, then I'm with Melissa - it HAS to mean the new album is coming out around the time the rumors said it will in May or June. But I'll stick to my guns and say that if no new album comes out, there's no way it'll be a double-headliner. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I think the ball is really in Damien's court, which maybe is why full tour details have not been announced yet. I suspect there are people who know, but just aren't talking about it.

^ What size venues does Fiona play?
I'm just thinking promo for Damien's second album should see him headline same size venues or bigger than last time. My impression is that they only do double bills if the "opening" act of the double bill couldn't fill such large a venue on his own. The Frames are a case in point: they got to play to Damien's bigger audience, but I can think of other examples. I just find it crazy that Damien wouldn't be headlining his own tour if he really releases a new album.

the frames opened for damien that wasn't a double headliner... no one even knew who the frames were in america until that tour
and damien's still much better known, though not as well known as people elsewhere perceive him to be, i think.. so maybe he's piggybacking on fiona's success (i haven't actually ever listened to her) to become better known in america, or maybe it just takes the pressure off sharing the bill rather than headlining.. i still get the feeling there's an album on the way soon.. whatever else i don't think he's touring for nothing |

^^ i've seen other groups who have waited an interminably long time to put out another album (especially a second one) lose some of that initial drawing power that they found in the first tour. maybe he's going to release the album and let it build in success like the last one did before launching a huge tour...

No, Melissa try "Fast as you can" and "Never is a promise" first (from her first albums)! Ah, well try both Cille's and mine's.
