Meh, besides the Frames and Damien I wasn't hugely impressed with anything. The second band on were ok, name started with "I". I hated nothing, there was just nothing else that excited me.

The second series is shaping up to be far better.

yes it was Interference 'American Townland'.

I thought the opposite of the series though; in that The Frames and Damien's performance were ok, but seeing and hearing other newer artists like Martin Finke, Roesy, Paul Tieran and Ger Wolfe.. that was the real highlight of the series for me.

In the second series there's a great performance to watch out from Pauline Scanlan singing 'Springhill Mining Disaster'. She's supporting Damien Dempsey in London in 2004 if anybody here's going to that.

I thought it was just an amazing program. To paraphrase Glen Hansard: the memories and stories of the songs will linger in the air and in my heart. The very last song "stars above" was a fitting climax to a most beautiful show.

Anyone else think Rosey looks like Pat Short's singer songwriter alter-ego?

(For those not in the know Pat Short is an amazingly unfunny comedian whose new DVD I was just forced to sit through as I bought it for my sister as per her request for christmas.)
