My travel schedule for 2010 is starting to take shape. London in Spring, and Istanbul and Ireland in the Summer. It'll be another fun year.

^ Sounds wonderful. I so miss though carefree days with little or no responsibility. Acting like a responsible adult is very overrated. Enjoy your planning (that was always 1/2 the fun for me) and your travels.

Sounds awesome, Rai!
Joyful, I love planning trips too - but like you, not with the kiddos, where you have to remember all the hundreds of things you can't live without in a strange place. Looking forward to when they are about 10 or so and you can start going to cool places again without all the hassle. My smile - we got carpet put in the lowest level of the house, plus we got the furnace serviced so it is much warmer down here so we've turned it into the primary playroom for the boys. So nice to get all the train tracks & GI Joe stuff out of the living room! |

Had my first Spanish class in a while today. It seems that I managed to shed most of my Catalanisms, I'm only struggling with pronouncing word-final r-s. On the other hand, I developed an Andalusian accent out of the blue. Me likes.

i would like to hear you speaking in spanish, rai. although, i bet you have a classic spanish (from spain) accent (i.e., if you want to say "canción" -song-, you would show the tip of your tongue at the "ción" part, lol).
anyway... i bet you will win the struggle in the end

the swell season gig tonight! as an encore they played "amadeus" by "falco" - an austrian musician that was quite well known for a while, even abroad and then died in an accident. glen tried to sing in german - brilliant! i'm pretty sure there'll be videos on youtube of that pretty soon
the last encore was hey day! i mean, what shall i say? after the gig i met all the guys, josh was in a real hugging mood - i chatted with all of them (except the drummer, he was new to me as i haven't been really following them)... but the funniest thing was that joe made me talk and talk and talk because he found my accent really funny! well, to cut the long story short - one of my best nights out ever, i guess THE best gig ever!

I just got a job in America over the summer!
Its a summer camp just outside New York, and i was offered a role to be a creative type counselor for the kids. Its my job to get them excited about anything creative, playing guitar, artwork, anything really! Its a new role as they want to really push creativity with the kids this summer, so the camp director said she doesn't know how my day to day will go as of yet, but that just makes it more fun for me! Im so excited, its going to be an amazing experience, ill be out there for about 9 weeks, and for the last 30 days, the staff usually go on a road trip together! Also, im gonna be having my 21st birthday there too, a 21st birthday in new york, hell yes. Add to that the fact that im on holiday in Austin for 2 weeks before i go out there, and im in for a pretty amazing American summer!

Ships, that's incredible! I hope the next few months just fly by for you!
Vee, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I could have done with a bit less Aboriginal, and a bit more multicultural, but I thought we did pretty darn good And today: Canada's first gold medal ever, as host country of the Olympics! Last edited by srahman24; 02-15-2010 at 03:21 AM. |

i'm going to Fermilab!!!! that's the LHC's younger, less successful sibling, the little particle accelerator who couldn't
Edit: i just realized that's completely untrue. fermi has been incredibly successful for several decades, it's a shame that our stupid politicians couldn't see that before cutting its budget

^ That's pretty cool Cali! What will you be doing there?
I got accepted as a division leader at our school's legal aid clinic. I'm REALLY excited (and it doesn't hurt that all the top Toronto law firms will instantly recognize the clinic's name on my resume) |

^És molt bé, jo també m'agrada Castellà peró la llengua de Barcelona és Català
Sadly it seems that the London trip has to be cancelled, because I was too slow in getting plane tickets and I am a bleedin' miser, especially when it comes to paying for the annoying hassle that flying has become in the past few years. Instead I'll be going to Berlin, by train or by bus, and will finally see the only mounted Giraffatitan brancai in the world. Yay!
