Default creep positioning?

Hey there,

I love Damien's rendition of Creep - Radiohead cover from Morning Becomes Eclectic... Stripped down on guitar sounds awesome.

I find that I can jam along with this using the standard barre cords (tuned down 1/2 step)
G - 3 5 5 4 3 3
B - 7 9 9 8 7 7
C - 8 10 10 9 8 8
Cm - 3 3 5 5 4 3

-but I can't seem to get the hammer-ons to sound any good. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers,
Mike

I think maybe it's just knuckle-breaking hard - but maybe I'm missing something - so if someone knows a secret - please share

I have always omitted this from my radiohead cover rep because it physically hurts me to play it :-P

Default Creep Positioning

I heard him do Creep and you are right, it is AWESOME........

I do it in the Chord Shape of (but I use a capo on 4th fret to match my voice)

C E F Fm

you can hammer on with almost all of your fingers in this form

you can use chords like Cmaj7, E7 , E9, Fsus, ect.......as passing chords,

I think I might actually sneak an Am in sometimes, remember if you are confident
it will be hard to hear a mistake if you do make one.......

I have found that the difference between a good guitarist and a great guitarist
is that, you must use the pinky!..........lol..................

For a better visual;

Chords C,E,F,Fm

E l -0- l -0- l -1- l -1- l
B l -1- l -0- l -1- l -1- l
G l -0- l -1- l -2- l -1- l
D l -2- l -2- l -3- l -3- l
A l -3- l -2- l -3- l -3- l
E l -X- l -0- l -1- l -1- l
----C----E----F---Fm

Fret
l---0--1--2--3
E l X ll X l - l X l
B l X ll X l - l X l
G l X ll - l X l - l
D l X ll - l X l X l
A l X ll - l X l X l
E l X ll X l - l X l

If you play the song in the above chords you can use any of the notes marked as an X for your hammer(s) on/off. You can play around all you like hit all the stings open, and never have to worry about an off note............

I hope this makes sense if not, ....I already know I'm full of it....
(whatever "it" is)...lol!!!!!

Thanks guys, that's helped alot.

I was playing around with the maj7 passing chords and found that after the hammer-on it's a double whammy thing, and goes something like:

E -3-3-3-3--- 3 3
B -3-3-3-3--- 3 3
G -4-4-4-3h4- 5 4
D -5-5-5-5--- 5 5
A -5-5-5-5--- 5 5
E -3-3-3-3--- 3 3
- -d d -u d--- u u d d...

so I hammer on with my middle finger and then do a Gsus on the next up stroke... and guess what!!??? - I use my pinky for that part....lol....!!
