Default Acidental Babies Sheet Music

I noticed someone was asking how this song goes, so I thought I'd take a look tonight. This is how I think the intro goes (which is repeated in the song), I thought before tabbing it I'd upload it to see if you think it's right or not, because wrong tabs get on my nerves.

piano.mp3

(You have to wait 15 seconds or so before you can download the file).

If it sounds right let me know and I can write down the tab for it for piano/guitar.

I'm no musician, but to my ears it sounds perfect.

Great transcription there. It sounds perfect Any chance you could use a program to put the notes on some sheet music? I know the basic chords myself, but I'm too lazy to work out the whole thing like you have

Well, all your kind comments have inspired me to do some more work on it; as requested I've been transcribing the piano to sheet music. I've done the intro, verse 1, chorus 1 and verse 2 so far, so just the second chorus left (which may well be the same as the first chorus).

I'm half tempted to try and do the vocal line now, because if I had a vocal line and lyrics it'd be pretty much complete, only I suck at transcribing vocals which is weird as most people find it easier than transcribing a piano!

Anyway, I'll get that second chorus done tonight or tomorrow and then post it here.

Well I decided not to bother with the vocal line for now, it would have cluttered up the score quite a lot, I can always do another version with that in if it's particularly wanted.

I've hosted the files on the webserver I use for my webspace for now, although I'm hoping at some point it could be hosted either on eskimofriends.com or another Damien Rice fan site.

page 1/3
page 2/3
page 3/3

It's taken the whole day to get that done, it's very hard to get something like this 100% accurate by I hope I've at least done a good enough job to do justice to this song.

Finally, I've tried to transcribe this in the way it'd appear if you brought the sheet music for this song, but to make it sound right it has to be played with some emotion; quite often in the song notes aren't quite played exactly on beat, and there is often a minute delay between left and right hands - but if you are a big enough fan I'm sure you can work all the details out yourself.

Sorry if the links have been down, until a better solution is available:

Accidental Babies

9 Crimes

Appologies, I'll have to moan at my webhost, I don't pay them good money to be down half the time .

beautiful job

is that right on accidental babies though? is it meant to be played all in the bass clef or is that supposed to be treble clef on top?

What do you mean? I downloaded it and there are only a few bars where it's all in the bass clef..

There are multiple ways to transcribe low notes that should be played with the right hand, for instance you can put them on the lower stave (normally just for left hand) and put markings to indicate they should be played with the right hand. The method I opted for is to specify that the top stave sometimes uses the bass clef for the lower notes, in these cases you should read the notes as you normally would for the bass clef (for the left hand usually) but then play the note with your right.
