Heretic at Large? Why the sudden name change? Can it be...no, no way it can be true...are you still???

By the way, you're totally right about Damo being able to have his pick of accompanying artists to choose from. However, I would highly doubt that anyone (if all this nonsense turns out to be true) could ever replace Lisa. Unless of course, she has an equally talented twin sister.

If Lisa indeed quit, she will be missed ...but the Bottom line remains quite clear to me.....at the end of the day, it's all about Damien Rice, with or without Lisa Hannigan

just to put in my two cents:
hasn`t there been lisa`s guitar on the stage? might be that I got it wrong fact is that there was standing another guitar on the stage. but it may be discussed if damien used it...but I didn`t see that

..detective constanze in action:
Guitar on stage

That's Damien's also, as far as I know. Not that it has much to do with the Lisa situation (if there is one)

Same in Cologne, it is for Damien. Lisa was "practising" on a smaller dark brown one whilst Damien was playing.

Unhappy

i am totally bummed. for me lisa is an intergral part of what makes damien's music special. i found her performances magical. the depth she added to the shows cannot be quantified. i have seen shows with and without lisa and i can say that there just is no comparison. ugh.

I saw only a show without Lisa and for me it was an incomplete show...just my opinion.

thats exactly how i feel, i would NEVER be able to accept a replacement with damien, lisa's voice is just irreplacable, ive never heard a voice with such emotion and passion. if there was a replacemt (assuming of course this is all true, im speaking hypothetically), id never look at dmiens music the same way again.

and heritic, since lauren was asking about changin her name a bit ago, and lauren luuuuuuurves angelina jolie, im gonna guess ms bledsoe

if im wrong just ignore me, otherwise i expect multiple cookies

yep that's exactly the feeling i got when i talked to vyv, so i just said that i didn't want to delve into private matters within the band.

I'm beginning to NOT expect her to appear at the cph gig thursday, with Damien wishing her well at the Paris gig and all.

If these sad news are really true, I hope that it was her own and unforced decision. But for me it is hard to believe to such a turnaround within 2 hours in Munich.
The other point is Damien's coolness(?) this evening to perform on stage in a way as if nothing out of the ordinary has happened.

I've got a ticket to see Damien at London next week, although my friend and I were actually more excited about seeing Lisa. I guess if Lisa ends up not being any further part of Damien Rice's music I will still listen to his music, but I'll also eagerly be watching out to see what Lisa does with hopes she'll find a career in music.

What will be most annoying is if they have a temporarily split up so I don't get to see them both peform, but then get back together after I have seen them! (Although admitidly it would be ultimately better due to the fact they actually ended up back together).

Anyway, please don't flame me for saying I like Lisa just as much as Damien, it's just my opinion/feeling after all,

Steve

damienrice.com tells me that Damien now confimed a second date in Vancouver on April 23rd.... don't know how much this says about the situation but in my opinion, I don't think he'd confirm more dates if Lisa was on the verge of quitting any minute or she had quit already.... that's just what I think, I only hope this confirmation of additional gigs mean things are all good and stable.

There was a word for Lisa at the end of the show, something along the lines of "I would like to dedicate this evening to lisa, i wish her all the best"

Either Lisa is ill which means all the argument rumours cant be right or Lisa has left to go solo and the argument tipped her over the edge to do this. Must piss you off bein apart of someone eles name when you could and have gone solo.

I think we do not need to worry about Lisa's solo career. Her voice is extraordinary and the last female vocalist I remember sounding similar was Eva Cassidy (Imagine, Lisa would do Sting's "Fields of gold" as Eva did...)

I am not worried about her solo career i am just saying that now she has got a taste for doing solo stuff maybe she was waitin for the first small thing to allow her to go and do it. I must also admitt i arnt the biggest fan of her solo songs, its fine to have an amazing voice but if she cant write songs then she will be doin duets and other peoples songs to get by.

I agree with you and let us stop here.

We do not know the reasons, let us hope that it was no tragical news from her family or friends reaching Lisa and made her impossible to be on stage.
Let us hope she is well.

Eva Cassidy = vaguely pleaseant but unispired and insipid wailing IMO.

Lisa = has it.

Don't get me started on Sting, lute playing mother****er.

Pretty much everything aside from the fact that she's missed gigs is pure speculation and presumably once something concrete happens we'll hear about it. Even Nigel rejoined the Tap in the end, until then you should all sit back and enjoy Shane's free jazz odyssey at the upcoming shows.
