Default Eskimo Christmas, the planning of

I know it's a bit early to be thinking bout christmas, but i just had an idea, and was wondering if u think it's a good one, and how we could get it to work.

I was thinking that we could have a present buying system where each eskimo buys a present for another eskimo, but u send to and recieve from a different eskimo... I'd be well up for it

Hmm... sounds like someone's been drafting a Christmas list already...

It would need fairly careful organising, it would probably for eskimos in the same country to send each other any gifts. But I find it hard enough to find presents for people I actually know, so I'm not sure how I'd cope with any eskimo friends!!

What if everyone bought their eskimo present friend a CD? Just one album, then everyone gets to experience some music that they otherwise might never have listened to! That's quite cool, and they're cheap to post!!

Bozz

PS: You're not allowed to send out "O"... everyone would end up with the same present!!!

not as fun though, and u don't know what albums people already have, whithout asking them that is. and then there's no surprise

I was thinking we could make a thread nearer the time, where everyone buys something for the person above them, and whoever posts first, buys something for something for whoever posts last. and u can just pm eachother for the address

OK, not such a good idea, then...

But it's a nice idea if we could get it to work

Sounds cool, i think everybody should leave a note in that particular thread and then emmett (or one of the eskimo grannies angela or sister midnight ) draws the names from the thread and in that order we will post each other presents.

maybe the grannies and grandpas could organise strategic alocation, so that no-one has to post out-of-continent.

so long as there's a minimum cost, i'm strongly against there being a maximum

Great Idea! I much prefer the Obligitory Gift-Giving Season Idea! But Eskimo christmas (possibly chrismukkah) Is great. We could all have a bash at making someone a present. I love making presents. I make presents for people all the time...regardless of the time of year. So as long as no one minds getting a home made gift from me! count me in!

That better be a Cyber Kipper!
How would we go about organising something like this! :O The words "Mammoth" and "Task" spring to mind.

well i think we're going to get everyone to post in a thread if they wanna take part, and then pick names out of a hat to determine who buys what for who, and then PM them with the name and address of their buddy.

Ahh good idea. Well we should get it done before the end of September. Then we have time to make/choose a gift!

i'm all up for it! flyaway is right on the timing, it needs to start happening know for it to work since people do tend to take time buying gifts and mail service is slow during the holidays. any help needed let me know PenguinBoy.

quick suggestion: if the this goes down, we should call it eskimo gift exchange...secret eskimo friend...or something of that nature so we don't single out cultures (just a sugg...don't be mad )

does any one have any issues with putting their addresses online? hum

If we could make a thread for people wanting too take part with their addresses etc... and then when i've collected up their details i'll list the people i've done, and they can just delete their posts. or edit them.

Or better still, do it by e-mail!

are newbies alloud?

Most eskimos are pretty cool. If someone tries that we'll kick them to the curb! I don't mind giving my address Via email if only 2 or so people will see it
