Default Daisy Okell Quartet

Hey guys
I randomly checked Tomo's myspace this morning and found that he added a new song to his player.
It's called "A Little Sugar From My Bowl" and it was played by the Daisy Okell Quartet in 2004, with Lisa on Vocals of course!!!!!!!

She sounds really goooood! so check ot out
... even more exiting is the fact that he says there's going to be more rare unreleased songs up there soon!!!!

It was a short enough set, only 6 songs or so as I recall. I'm sure if you do a search you'll be able to find the thread pertaining to the gig and get more information.

She was very good though.

Do you think she ever comes back here and sees that we still talk about her all the time? I hope she does...

It may have been discussed before, but..: Why Daisy Okell - who is/was she, does she even exist?

My guess?

Daisy = Wild Flower
Okell = O'Kell = Of Kells

Maybe Lisa is from Kells?

Default Okellydokelly!

Not sure there is a Manx connection regarding Lisa's band at a guess. Its generally only available here in the Isle of Man and a few pubs in Liverpool.Its not the best of beers(that said I drink a poor quality Guinness so what would I know!) and the best bitter on the Isle of Man is in fact brewed by an Austrian!!! Its fab,he's fab and a huge supporter of live music over here www.bushys.com Check out the bottle cars he runs!
Anyhow thats my tuppence worth.

haha... Marti eeeasy on the question marks!!!!!

This is band that she was part of .... I think they've only performed a couple of shows back in 2004...

Daisy Okell Quartet - featuring Lisa Hannigan (vocals) Tom Osander
(drums) Phil Ware (piano) and Dave Redmond (double bass) appear as special
guests with Bellx1 at the first of their two Olympia shows.

according to the veeery trustworthy Wilkipedia ::

[*** Links Removed by Administrator - It specifically asks on Tomo's myspace page that people not make MP3s of these recordings. They might be released commercially one day. Please don't post or distribute links to MP3s of those or other unreleased recordings on this site. Thanks. ***]

Sadly, Tomo's myspace is shut down. Are the recordings lost forever?
