I think Mia Maestro has been on Scandal in the past 2 episodes. I saw her name in the credits. Is she the same person opening for Damien? I don't know much about her.

it does seem like a karaoke bar haha, you can´t hardly hear him.
I´ve got to say though, i think for the most part we south americans love to sing along at concerts, (i don´t do it bc i have a horrible voice) and i would def not do it at one of his concerts. I hope i can actually hear him at the concert in Lima haha.

I was there. The audience in São Paulo was so insane and disrespectful that I could notice he was uncomfortable and frightened. After the show, I was anxious to see him playing a couple of songs on the street but I think the crazy crowd that was waiting for him outside made him run directly to his black van.

I've been waiting for this show for years, I was there, but in my head looks I've never been and had a nightmare about that instead.

the singing along thing is so typical in south america (latin america, i´s say), as renata mentioned, to the point that many artist just point out the mic to the audience... but i believe it´s pretty easy to realize when you have to sing along in *mute* mode. the atmosphere and the music say it all, imho.

a friend of mine was there and she said it was a terrific 2 hours show but didn´t mentioned anything about the audience. we have to remember the perspective of the video as well, i suppose, and the people surrounder whoever filmed it.

she is the same girl indeed she also starred motorcicles diaries movie (about young che guevara traveling around south america). you can hear the album (damien features two songs) on spotify. i really like her music and i think it´s a good record, but her voice still hasn´t click.

i´m happy she plays in her home town and i hope she is is for an after show

Great, great show, about 2hs long. He was in a good mood, chatty with the crowd and telling stories (the same ones you've heard before)
I'm trying to remember as many details as possible.
The first person to yell "I love you" was a guy so that set the tone for the night
"Funny thing about love..." (chocolate analogy)
Then another guy yelled "Please take my wife" (??) to which he replied "I'll take your wife if you take my husband". LOL I don't know... it was hilarious
Then some girl yelled "make me a mother" and everyone laughed.
Crowd was good, no loud singalongs, just whatever you expect with 9 crimes, Volcano or TBD. I did have a girl behind me who sang EVERY word, but she wasn't loud. The were a ton of flash photography which was pretty annoying.
And they talked a lot during Mia's opening set, that was kinda rude
I recorded it on my phone but quality is not the best, I'll se if I can polish it a bit. Like an idiot I didn't record the aftershow.

Delicate
Elephant
MFFF (forgot the lyrics he always forgets)
The Professor & La Fille Danse (with extra verses, on a tiny guitar -not ukelele-)
Amie
9 Crimes (with loops, also great)
Change you (started the song and forgot the lyrics right away, had to stop. Told that he keeps forgetting the lyrics because it's the only love song he's written and restarted the song)
Accidental Babies (by request): Excellent version, with loops. "From the song that asks the least of anybody to the song that asks the most"
The Greatest Bastard
Volcano
It takes a lot... (this is so great, seeing it live, watching him go to one instrument to the other... it's something else)

Encore:
Rootless Tree
I Remember
Time to Go with Mia Maestro and Joel Shearer on guitar
The Box (People were requesting Colour Me In and The Box and he chose this one)
The Blower's Daughter
Cannonball (with his 12 year old godson Tom).

The affter show was right outside the venue. The were a lot of people waiting, I thought he would just say hello and get in the van, but he walked out, guitar in hand and started playing.

Eskimo
9 crimes with a fan who brought his guitar (there were at least 4 people with guitars)
"now I want to hear an argentinian song"
A couple of guys played a song by Baglieto - Vere's friend sang during this one and it was awesome! Hope someone posts a video.
Naranjo en Flor
"now we want something irish"
An irish song by Damien
Cannonball again with his godson
To Love Somebody (reading lyrics from his cellphone and while the people of the venue were closing down, they turned out the lights)
Somebody gave Damien a book. "I can't read spanish". I don't know if he took it or not
The guys requested Stoic, but he didn't play it
Trusty and True

Mia Maestro was also there, but enjoying the moment like one more in the crowd, behind him. She seems cool.

Some pics I took

This one is by Vere's friend, that's Tom in the red shirt

There were a LOT of cellphones up so I'm sure a few videos will appear on youtube soon

i could not be any happier for the guys in buenos aires

i´m very glad you had an amazing time -thank you for letting me be part of it even from distance- and that emi (¡diosa!) could shine

"naranjo en flor" suits damien perfectly (such a sad sad song) although he doens´t undertand a word

eva, baglieto only features this song. was it the only argentinian song or did they sing two?

thanks for the pics. i would love to see "time to go" video. i have searched but i couldn´t find anything yet.

i could see he´s been doing long encores lately. nice!

I'm completely ignorant regarding our music
First it was that one where Emi sang and then Naranjo en Flor

I wonder how to find pics and vids on facebook
I mean, I have the feeling people is posting to facebook nowadays instead than on youtube and similar. Flickr hasn't seen a new damo photo in a long time, and on youtube you only find a couple videos from each night.
Maybe everything happens on instagram and facebook these days - and while I get the basics of instagram (having hashtags and all) I really don't know how to find stuff on facebook, unless my friends are posting it.

All of this just to say - thank you all for posting reviews, pics and videos on here!!

Definitely woman from a Scandal. So many different worlds colliding. I'll have to listen to her again. I don't think I was drawn to her voice when I first heard her.

Tom's voice, however, is so sweet! Thanks for sharing the video.

I think it's very hard finding videos on Facebook unless the posters are your friends or in some similar community. And, many use privacy settings now. The world is surprisingly small, though. I think we can find them through many Eskimos but you would have to "borrow" someone's video and post it publicly via YouTube or here.

it took me a few seconds to get my breath back... i´m serious.

out of the topic. i love the stage at la trastienda (it´s kind of whelans-esque) because it´s not too high which makes the whole atmosphere even more intimate to me

oh, another funny story

the guy with the guitar, sitting next to Damien in this pic:

I think he's the same one who was standing behind me in the queue before going in. He was there with his friends, but he didn't have a ticket. The guy in the hat sitting across him in the pic had an extra one, and sold it to him just 5-10 minutes before doors opened

so, just a suggestion to LisaHanniganChile and fellow chilean fans who didn't manage to get a ticket, just go early to the venue anyway and maybe you'll be as lucky
