As opposed to 'cut loose', which would just be nasty
and unnecessary....

on cold water after the chanting monk sounding bit when he comes back in with regular voice though louder and more forceful than before "cooold."

on prague at the end when the cello creeps in barely noticible at first, then loud enough to hear it well.

video: nine crimes (http://www.kfog.com/PrivateConcerts/DamienRice/default.asp)

part: when the song is done and vyv looks back at damien to see if he wants to end the song and then she realizes he's done and she breaks out into a big smile and cringes up her body as if to say "that was sooo beautiful and i was a part of it... weeeeeee!"

delicate is such a versitailesong its very quiet at one point and hushed but then goes mad at the end
i love that in all Damo's songs .
They are all so versitaile (i don't think that is the way to spell it )
Its like has anyone ever heard the reggae version of volcano? How cool is that!

I just listened to thestunningJools version of BD13 timesand I can't find the moment Cali was talking about unless a) She's actually talking about "The Professor" instead or 2) The lyric she was refering to was misheard and is that"The pupil in deniiiiiiial" line!

The first one that comes to mind for meis that pivotalmoment in "Grey Room". I won't spoil it for those who haven't heard it yetbutI find itabsolutelybreathtaking.

I loooooooooooooove that part after the 1st ending on Fool. It seems that the song is gonna end and then Vyv with hercello goes on again and it everybody goes faster and faster and faster and somehow the song gets bigger and bigger, he he. It has that circus felling, it reminds me a lot of the movie La strada, btw one of the best movies ever, y'all have to watch it. I just love that song.

Oops, you're absolutely right. That's the part I was talking about. Sorry to have made you look for that hybrid version of BD/Cannonball/The Professor

That's ok.

You're 100% correct on those othertwo points though: "La Strada" is indeeda great film and "Fool" is a great song.

God SO many to choose from, just some of my favourites :

The live version of Delicate, the loud chorus, where he just sings his soul out "So WHYYYY d'ya sing..." etc.

When the bass comes in heavy on The Blowers Daughter and the song changes, always makes me shiver.

As does the higher chorus in Amie.

Older Chests, just...well, the whole song, especially the chorus, that song makes me an emotional wreck having been through tought times lately, always makes me wish I had more time with someone I lost.

Could easily go on all night, but not to forget Eskimo, the operatic singing is just incredible, and Damien's "When i Knooooooooooooooooo o o o o o o oooooooooow" before she kicks in!

face- 'cause i adoooooooooore you' (actually most of the lyrics in this song)

the blowers daughter -'i cant take my eyes off of you, i cant take my mind off of you'

volcano - 'what i am to you, is not real'

i remember - 'i remember it well, taxi-ed out of a storm, to watch you perform', / 'i wanna hear what you have to say about me, hear that you're gonna live without me......i remember december'

delicate - 'why do sing hallelujah, if it means nothing to you, why d'you sing with me at all'

cheers darlin' - 'you gave me 3 cigarettes, to smoke my tears away, and i cried , when you mentioned , his name'

Way down south, near Bournemouth. I first saw Damien on VH2 music channel, he was doing Cannonball live acoustic with a cellist, it was black and white. I was basically testing my new camcorder, cos it could capture video and he happened to be on, but I fell in love with the song, downloaded some old singles, then bought the album!

I have a woeful knowledge of him though, I only have the album and a couple of b-sides, I dont even have the original Woman Like A Man (or know how it sounds compared to the live version!).

cool thats a bit like me then!
But i'm slowly building up my collection - out of interest how old are you?
I'm 16 and was wondering what other damo fans are like
I fell in love with Damo with accidently seeing him at the VFestival 2003. I went to go and see Athlete and because Kelly Osbourne pulled out (what a shame! ) the stage times all got messed up. I first of all thought Damo was Athlete!?!?!?
Then all i remember was him going quite mad in places - but i will never forget the Blower's Daughter when he sang {I can't take my eyes off you} That was beautiful. SInce then i heard him on a times monthly CD thingy which had a few snipets of "O" on it. BOught the album and the rest is history! I fell in love!

This forum is f**king excellent the best i have ever seen everyone is so kind and nice. I used to be a member of the efestivals.co.uk forum in the V Festival section but they were all rude and kept having a go at every point I had to say and didn't like Damo!

So anywayz welcome my friend!

Cold Water - the bit where Lisa comes in over 'Am I lost'. Shivers up the spine every time, especially live. Belfast in February it was just perfect because they got the balance right for once and you could hear her and Damien equally. Creepy as hell, but so good.

When Damien performed on Jonathon Ross singing Cold Water Damien licks his lip after Cold water surrounds me now, ooooh very sexy!!!

Also at the end of Prague when he breaks into a little bit of Cheers Darlin', well actually anything that he whispers in!

the ending of prague from o, where lisa sings 'cheers darling, heres to you and your lover, darlin, i got years'

everytime im at my friends house, and i have his acoustic in my hand, those chords and lyrics just spill out,
been working on the rest of the song, but it cant sing and play at the same time, other than that bit

the bit at the start of the girl that does yoga when someone smashes a glasswhy is it always a live recording theres glasses smashing and crates being moved?

anyways:

Delicate opening line gets me every time

in "then go" when he sings "did your mother have you easily" gets me every time... also the "then go" bit...

the last bit in "i remember" just when he hits that note to go into "come all you lovers..." love that

"tongue" when after the loud bit he goes "this ones for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, this ones for you, what u dont understand is the number of times i have been through this saaaaaaaaame situaaaaaaaaaaation" is so brilliant... at least on the version i have
