More from Bono
So I was lucky enough to meet Bono yesterday (i know! ) and I told him that I was really happy that he had met Damien last week. Bono started to rave about how great Damien is... using words like "remarkable talent", "he's really something else", "extraordinary"... I can't quote exactly because my brain was somewhere else at the time, but I'm really happy that Bono's a fan of Damien. Hopefully we'll see him at a Vicar Street show one day.

Meh, he's alright. But he's no bowl of Special K! It's really embarrassing when you meet people you look up to like that, and all you can manage to say are some vowels.

U2 are legends in their own right, and it's nice to know Bono appreciates good music and "extraordinary talent" when he sees it But let's hope he doesn't pimp damo too much, we want him to ourselves!

John Lennon would be a more likely choice.

U2 fans brave the elements in Dublin Hundreds of U2 fans braved the elements in Dublin to get a glimpse of the band members who are due to sign copies of their new book at Eason's on O'Connell Street. But only 250 competition winners are being allowed entry to the shop where the band members are to sign copies of "U2 by U2". Tickets were allocated to winners of radio competitions and a contest on the band's official website. The book contains exclusive interviews with, and pictures of, the band. In the book, it is suggested that Bono may take a back seat in global politics. However, Bono says he is using his celebrity to highlight world issues that politicians should be dealing with. Earlier this week Bono spoke out about Darfur, Aids and Global poverty. London Members of Irish rock band U2, from left, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jr., Adam Clayton and Bono, pose with any archive photo of themselves, for the media during their book 'U2 by U2' signing session at Waterstone's bookstore in London, Friday, Sept 22, 2006. Wow, what a coincidence. My favorite (very good) radio station today is honoring the exact date of U2's formation with constant U2 tracks from 6-10.
I have to say, Bono has a big head, but a big heart. . . . and gotta love blue tinted glasses. |

i bought a disposable camera and gave it to one of the staff to take photos, but they didn't turn out too great. they were all lovely, very chatty and happy and appreciative. bono was the chattiest (not surprisingly!). i was wearing a shirt with Africa and ONE written on it, like one that Bono wears sometimes, so as soon as he saw me he started signing it... very rude really... i had met bono and edge before, but it was great to meet them all together.
