wasn't it the bad part of him (the part that connected him to Voldemort) at least thats what I thought.

I thought the epilogue was rushed and kind of unnecessary, but whatever.

I thought they were going to end it that both Voldemort and Harry died, so I was happy when Harry got to choose. Death with his parents, Dumbledore, and Sirius or life with Ginny, Hermione, and Ron was his decision. I think he picked the right one because eventually he will be with his parents again. I don't know I didn't really understand the whole idea of wizard heaven, but okay.

The whole Snape not being evil was pretty predictable. But poor Hedwig and Fred,

ahhh thanks, it's not very clear tho.

i wanted snape to live and eventually become headmaster, his story was so sad. i liked snape since the beggining and not just because i have a huge crush on alan rickman
the only death that got me sobbing was dobby's, poor dobby

Wasn't the small child the horcrux? Harry and the horcrux got separated once Voldemort tried to kill him. Harry could go back and leave the horcrux.
And i dont think Harry was in Wizard heaven/purgatory etc. he was just unconscious

Yeah poor dobby. Kreacher had a turn around, eh? Legend

Timeee, that makes sense now. I know, I started to really like that ol' brute Kreacher. I wonder if death eaters did go to Siriuses house after they had left.

I was sad for Dobby and Hedwig too.

I was so happy when she redeemed Snape at the end - it made the whole book worth it. I agree, the epilogue was extremely lame and unnecessary.

i'm in complete agreement on the epilogue. i've been trying to convince people to stop reading before it because the way the story proper ended i thought was very fitting and open-ended so that people could imagine the characters going off to do anything.

maybe it was a defensive manuever so that people won't bug her to write more harry potter stories in the future?

two of my death predictions came true - lupin and one of the twins. the snape thing was depressing, but his devotion was cool (if a little pathetic) and he did get to die looking sort of into lily's eyes. fred's death just pissed me off. and i like lupin, too, but didn't expect him to survive.

i thought the entire scene at godric's hollow was fantastic - eerie and quiet and cold - harry's nervousness was palpable. it was probably my favorite part of the book.

any other favorites?

i just loved the bit at the end when harry went into the headmaster's office and they were all applauding him.. i could really see it happening! loved ginny's birthday kiss.. steamy! and the redemption of snape, kreacher and the dursleys!

i thought the epilogue was lovely, it really made the book nice. yeah it was cheesy like but it was so so cute!!

i liked the epilogue. its important to realize that everything does not have to be DIRELY important to the plot. it was fun and nice and left me with a sense of closure...

I agree. I liked the idea of the three kids with the names, and Harry seeing in his son Albus's eyes what he himself had seen at that age. It gave the whole thing a sort of closure and wrapped it up nicely. It made me really happy reading it and I closed the book with a smile.

I finally finished!!!!! And it was great, all made sense in the end!!!! The only thing that I didn't like was the epilogue, I thought it was like written by a 7 year old

and I agree with Timee, that thing was the Horcrux, otherwise it wouldn't make sense...

One question, one thing that I didin;t gifure out completely, how did Dumblemore know that Harry had a Horcrux inside?? How could be absolutely sure?????

isnt it on the idea that Dumbledore has wry instincts and that most of them hold true?

Doesn't make much sense to me... If Dumblemore was sending Harry to be killed by Voldemort, he had to be 100% sure that Harry had a Horcrux, and I can't see how he could possibly know...
