I just don't understand how he didn't get tired of always playing the same songs yet... I don't think there's such thing as a "greatest hits show", of course he plays his "hits" but could find the time for at least a couple songs... not for the audience of course - Korean people will see him for the first time so I think they don't mind hearing old songs - but for himself... just to get a taste at how songs sound in front of an audience etc...
plus, if I were him I'd be tired of playing the same songs I've played in the latest 10 years (or even more)...

i think i agree with you, glo... but many artists do the same. maybe they just feel comfortable with that, i don´t know... what surprises me is the fact that there´s actually a set list, but if damien still plays depending on the mood he is in, i´m sure that is not the ultimate set list... and i´m hopeful regarding new songs, at least the one that we already know ("wild and free", or "box" or -as i would name the song- "mirror" ).

the countdown has begun already

I agree glo - in fact I use Babylon with DG as my loo break tune! But DG does the same - many of the same songs have been constants for a long time - I think he does that to some extent because the audience does expect it - and I think the professionalism in the musician gets them through the repitition........

I do think however that greatest hits gigs do exist - most specifically one offs or at festivals for instance - and clearly this will not be a feeding ground for album 3 as some have suggested - that notion is completely ludicrous to me - of course he will play all the mainstays in korea - I agree on cold water though as that is a nice one to add - if you get anything new it would be one max I should think

anyway good to see him on the road - time will tell if this gets him out of his shell so to speak

happy new year!

This is how I feel too. I am so sick of seeing the same old setlist.

My question is, why is there a setlist before the show's happened?

^^ maybe it is a request from the organizers. doesn´t make any sense to me either.

i found this article about his visit to seoul:
Quote:
The S Seats, at ₩132,000, and the R seats, at ₩165,000 offer better vision, but come at a significant increase in price.

But it is Damien Rice. And depending on what that name means to you, you might find that the rather jacked up prices are worth it.

^yes I agree with that
already Ticket touting has started almost three times expense..

Interview of Damien Rice

Q. You have a sizable fan base who like your lonely & groomy sensitivity of your own. where from do you get inspiration?

A. Whenever I'd love to get any inspiration intentionally,
I come back home with disappointment.
It appear from nowhere all of a sudden when I don't follow it.

Q. Which musician has been a great influence in your life, do you think?

A. I can't tell you artist or band in detail,
they whom I consider as competitor make a considerable impact on my music.
Nice songs they made are a stimulus to me.
Good songs become the catalyst for great challenge.

Q. I've heard you began play music without any training.
What caused you to start music ?

A. my daddy had a guitar. so I had a will to play to guitar naturally.

Q. how do you usually make music?

A. I follow my intuition and take a guitar.
Song stick up at that time. almost my songs are made just as this way.
most of my songs are like falling from the sky.
as if an acorn which has fallen from tree fell on my head, and flowers bloom...
there is no fixed rule.
Many acorns(songs) fall when the wind(inspiration) hissed and raged.
then, I started getting a headache.

Q. I've heard you did farm work or busk on traveling after you'd dropped out of band. Let me tell you what felt and learned that time.

A. I had no idea of what does dream look like or how feel although I left to pursue my dream. I'd decided to wander in places known as beautiful place, but In the end, I've returned to my parents' home since wandered from place to place.
So I've realized things(find to dream) just didn't work out as planned,
then I set to album.

Q. Juniper, how did that affect you? Are you interested in making strong rock music such as Weatherman agian?
A. I think I'm still a beginner.
and I have no plans to make a song like 'weatherman'.

Q. I know The Blowers's Daughter is real story.
A. yes. It's a true story.

Q. whay did you choose One of U2?
A. Bono asked me to cover the song.

Q. If other singer should cover your song,
what do you think who would be good ?
A. The Animals In The Jungle Book. because I think they will make my songs more fun.
( there is no a band named 'The Animals In The Jungle Book'.
it's just joke. I said the animals of 'The Jungle Book'.)

Q. many fans miss the time you performed with Lisa together.
Do you have any plans to do with other musician?

A. For now, Nothing.

Q. Expectations are high for what will be your first live appearance in Korea.
if you give any tip for enjoying your concert?

A. Listen.
