Default New to Edinburgh

I am an American student who will be studying in Edinburgh this spring. I've been looking at the site for a couple months, and decided I should get an account and start contributing. Any tips on the city are appreciated, and I'm going to try and a get ticket to the concert in Edinburgh so maybe I'll see some of you there.

It's a great city, especially at this time of year. Venue of the world's best Hogmanay Party! London, New York and the rest don't have anything like it.

Edinburgh is class.... im originally from a town called Kirkcaldy around 40 miles away... so used to visit a lot when I was younger. It's fairly central, so you should be able to explore a bit more of Scotland with that as your base for weekends. If you are ever up in Dundee let me know and I can give you a tour of the sights....
