new piano song
new track, improvised the day before the Ljubiana gid, upped to IG (a bit of it) and then played at the gig in full
Stef has it on his channel, unlabelled so far but I did find it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwG9_bMovmo lyrics anyone, I think I get most of it "Did it push you away? did it blind you at the door? was there too much light? too much ???? Where does it begin? where does it end? Where do I pretend? Where do I fit in? Why Do I hold on to, why do I hold... There's a dog there at the door/ Waving his magic wand/ Swears that if you let him in/All will be gone/All that you didn't want/All that you don't need/All that has you haunted/All that you believe in,,, Why do I hold on to.... I do not understand how many times do you have to take it in your hands when you know it burns"

Did it push you away?
Did it blind you at the door? Was there too much light? Too much noise? Where does it begin? Where does it end? When do I pretend? Where do I fit in? Why do I hold onto? Why do I hold? Why do I hold on too...? Why do I hold? There's a dark theur* at the door Waving his magic wand Swears that if you let him in All will be gone: All that you don't want All that you don't need All that has you haunted From all that you believe Why do I hold on too...? Why do I hold? Why do I hold onto...? Why do I hold? (x2) I do not understand How many times do you have to take it in your hand When you know it burns? (x2) *Probably still not right but at least that phrase actually does mean "an evil wizard" and sounds pretty damned identical to whatever he really says. Besides, it took me years trying to figure out that one lyric from "Then Go" and when I asked him and he told me "a tinseled Decca tree" I'd never heard of such a thing in my whole life so it's not like he's never used incredibly obscure mystical terms in a song before. My other (admittedly much more plausible) theory is that he said "dog" when he meant to say "God" since they're the same backwards and people often do that by accident. Will have to hear him play it again somewhere else first to know for sure.

The only thing the new video definitively cleared up is that he wasn't mispronouncing "God". If you're now ready to believe that Damo played D & D as a kid (he and I are the same age so it's really quite possible) then I can expand my initial supposition to include 'Dark Cleric' and/or 'Dark Elf' because on each recording one sounds slightly more like the other despite his apparently saying the same phrase.
