Is anyone taking the train back from Ferrara to Firenze that evening? Any suggestions on decently timed trains (i.e. not 4am)? Would do a bus too if the times are better.

don't think there are trains so late (after the gig), you probably have to take the train the next morning

Yeah, looks like my friend and I will just spend the night in Ferrara. But as Ferrara looks like quite a cool city, probably for the better.

Are the venues in ferrara and firenze seated? I know they are general admission, but are there seats inside or is it standing concerts?

I dont really want to stand in front of the venues all day since id like to visit the towns a bit. well... :/

both Ferrara and Firenze are seated... well, actually, Ferrara was supposd to be seated but they just moved the gig to a new venue (the Motovelodromo) and there's nothing sure anymore because they don't usually do gigs there, but I think it will be seated too...

Location for Ferrara hast changed to Via Porta Catena 77

Gentile Cliente,

^the new location is basically a FIELD!!

for anyone travelling to Firenze the day after the Ferrara gig, there's an Intercity train in the morning that costs just 9E (www.trenitalia.com)

of course everyone is standing at the Kasabian show, even when it was supposed to happen at Piazza Castello...
I still think they'll be adding chairs for Damien.

Hope everyone's having a great show in Grado tonight.

What time are people showing up for Ferrara and Firenze? Thinking 7:30ish?

Just a quick comment from the train: great gig, amazing setlist, plus five songs in the aftershow, including three new songs (back to her man and two never heard before)

Damien once contributed a song to chinese movie. i never found the soundtrack or have seen the movie. could it be that song? The Italian Guy with the jaw harp did know the song so i assume that it has been released? Or was is a cover? But it sounded way to much like a damien song. And it is a really great song. )

Do you mean "What if I'm wrong?"

The guy was Damien's friend, maybe even his tour manager or something. But he definitely wasn't a fan, he was travelling with Damien and hanging around with Damien and Joel all the time

Joel was there, but not playing. He's on vacation, just following Damien on tour...

Anyway, the song wasn't What If I'm Wrong, it was a never heard before song for sure, something saying "what have you done to her smile / what have you done to her face / what have you done to her soul"... it sounded slightly political at some points but I could be wrong, I can't remember the rest of the lyrics right now... but I have a feeling Marti might remember more.

Something funny... during the aftershow, someone mentioned eskimofriends, and Damien said "eskimofriends... isn't it Emmett?" and someone (maybe Sharmin?) said yes and so he said something like "I love Emmett!"

sorry we cannot do any review, we're on the road!!!!! but amazing gig and incredible aftershow we're getting use to them

I first thought the song was a cover but the lyrics were 100% Damien-esque so not sure. Thought it was ok but too country for me...

that said, the last song was amazing!!!!!!!! really shocked at the opening line of the song ( I don't know how to feel/I don't know how to f*ck)
the lyrics are something like...
I don't know how to feel... I don't know how to f*ck... something has me stoic... and I don't know how to comfort you, I don't know how to comfort me... Don't know if i'm alright, don't know if i'm all wrong don't know if i'm LOST in this i'm wanting to belong I don't know how to comfort you I don't know how to comfort me... but I know... I know... I know I have to go!!!

These are the lyrics for the last song he played:

"Comfort Me"

I dont know how to feel
I dont know how to ****
Something has me stoic
Something has me caught
And I dont know how to comfort you
I dont know how to comfort me

Don't know if i am alright
Don't know if i am all wrong
Don't know if i am lost in this
Wanting to belong

I dont know how to comfort you
I dont know how to comfort me

But i know
I know
I know
That i have to go
I know
I know
I know
That i have to go

And i dont wanna fight
But here it comes again
Something has me furious
And i can not pretend

I dont know how to comfort you
I dont know how to comfort me
And i dont know where i am coming to
And i dont know where i wanna be

oh oh oh

But i know
I know
I know
That i have to go

oh oh oh

I know
I know
I know
That i have to go

Just because i said i'd stay
It doesn't mean i will not shake
Just because i wanted you
Doesn't mean i am able to

How can i be for you
What that you want me to
How can you be for me
Something you can not be

du du du du du du...

thanks a lot for sharing setlists and new lyrics! the lyrics of the last song seems raw. even though Damien isn't talking much about a new album I hope the fact that he plays new songs means that he's taking time to write. Damien is one of my favourite songwriters so I'm definitely curious to see where his writing takes him.

since its a public show anybody could make a video and post it on youtube "crazy singer and terrible crowd performing at grado beachside" . I suppose its rather a copyright thing with his label and he has to say to be on the safe side. If he'd really care about it he wouldnt perform them in public. But maybe we can ask him tonight

actually i dont know who i met from the forum yesterday? So who is who?

I videotaped the grado gig so i can provide picture and audio as well
