I'm at the kaffibarinn in Reykjavik. I can't believe how tiny this place is.

Just found this thread. Many things have brought me joy, but FINALLY seeing Damien live (at a small club no less!) with my daughter was definitely the reason for one of my biggest smiles! Throughout the concerts, she and I would just look at each other with these huge silly grins on our faces! And we heard What If I'm Wrong AND Hallelujah with Glen- pure awesomeness! Now if I can get lucky and manage to get tickets to see U2 next year, I'll surely be smiling yet again!

I'm happy for you, Vere! Are you going to all three Irish gigs now?

I already was smiling today, because I got tickets to see damien in dublin & galway, but now I got some more excellent news…

As from today I am officially part of the crew of the local indie website I occasionally take pictures for.

That means I now have access to a ginormous list of indie gigs in Belgium & the Netherlands, I can pick the ones I want to go to, and they'll try to arrange a photo pass. (and usually get one) + I can also suggest gigs that aren't on the list

Already on my wish list (and still available) for the next months:
  • Hozier
  • Bear's Den
  • Father John Misty
  • Kodaline

I feel like I'm inside Aladdin's cave

One of my photos from Iceland Airwaves is going to be published in the Icelandic newspaper "Morgunblaðið"

(If there's anyone in Iceland at the moment that could send me a copy or anyone fluent in Icelandic that could help me buy a digital copy… i'd be very grateful )

I don't visit here often enough. Been dealing with mental health issues, and on leave of absense from work and this forum makes me smile.

big hug, rach
(i hope it helps a bit )

as for me, life is not perfect here either. i need a change... and that will be going to connemara for a month also, my siblings and i finally made my mother´s dream of visiting spain come true. she has never left the country (in fact, she´s got her first passport recently) and she is 71.

oh... i also managed to put my ideas on paper, formally, at last... and i just started a small project that i had in my for quite long... wow! i just realized all the things that made me smile... and i´m smiling now

You've got a lot of things to smile about, Vere, that's great! (and life's never perfect, so try to enjoy the good things ) I hope you enjoy Connemara!

Rach, I hope you feel better soon.
The igloo is a very warm and welcoming place, I guess that's why I spend too much time here.

I'm a bit down myself lately, but tonight I have another Hozier gig to look forward to, so that makes me smile.

I somehow landed in a parallel universe where I don't automatically think that I'm not good enough, try for the things I really want and get more than I ever hoped for. Today's a good day!

what a lovely days are those!

maybe you should stick a note on your mirror... like "welcome to your parallel world "... so, you can repeat that feeling every day
there´s plenty of time (and so many fooking thinks) to feel otherwise anyway...

for me it was a very stupid thing, but it made me laugh so hard! two guys came to the hostel to fix some windows and their accent was really difficult to understand but absolutely adorable... my instict said they were either from donegal or anywhere up in the north... so, eventually i approched them to ask and they were from... donegal indeed! i love when small details make you feel happy

anyway... happy friday everybody
