Default London - 7 Nov

Hello all!

I'm new to the forum, but not to the subject of it. The older lyrics and sounds are hardwired and have played the soundtrack to the peaks and troughs* of the last decade+ of my life. The newer sounds are beginning to make their mark!

* mainly troughs!

Anyhow, I was due to attend the London gig with a friend of mine but she now cannot make it. Various other friends are not sufficiently interested in Damien's music and I'm afraid that their indifference would take from my night!

So, I thought I'd see whether anyone on here would like to accompany me.

I'll be flying over from Dublin on the day of the gig and will be able to meet up for a drink somewhere in the vicinity in the hours before.

Feel free to get in touch.

Hey, another noob here!

Massive fan of Damien's for the past 12 years since 0 came out, i was at my pc at 9am when tickets went on sale that day a few weeks ago, luckily got one for myself =)

Look, the Pallaium is a bit posh isn't it? I was wondering what everyone was wearing to this gig, are you getting glammed up, ultra glammed up (gown/posh frock) or smart casual?

I really dont wanna turn up in leather jeans and a sparkly top a'la rock chick if everyone else is wearing some floor length ballgown or something equally upmarket, vice versa...

I really am stuck for ideas, i do rock chick well, posh... erm lol will it be posh or not? thats my question i guess.

Anyhow, cannot wait for the show, it will be utterly sublime i am sure, fingers crossed that damien is fit and well for the gig!

Colour me out!

Quite the conundrum.

Not sure that posh is the answer, nor rock chick. Maybe dress as you normally would for a Damien Rice gig, but pay some homage to the venue (vintage opera glasses would be handy!)

Jeans, boots, t-shirt a jacket for me. I guess it's easier for guys!?

Look forward to seeing you at the gig, whatever you choose to wear!

I've got two stalls tickets for sale, row N seats 25-26, face value £71.50 each. Can't seem to post over at Eskimo friends but if anyone knows anyone over there looking for tickets let me know!

Thanks Vere... looks like I'll be there on my own!!!

By the way, for anyone who is going and sees this, the support act takes to the stage at 7:30pm. Things were a little unclear on the ticket and website, so I popped in to the Palladium to confirm.

Plenty of stories, great audience, I'll write more tomorrow.

This was just a mini, pre-album tour.

"big tour" next year!

No strings, but beautiful non-amp'd version of T&T with choir to close.

Sent it to Vere. I'm sure she'll add some light.

PM me your email address and I'll shoot it on to you!

He struggled to start it and then joked that it's "clumsy, like all virgins"!

wow, really nice song. The recording is only less than 2 minutes but it sounds very nice... a sort of The Rat Within The Grain... I think a good temporary title could me Truth Is Not Enough...?

tell me what can i do for you
to make it easier to deal with me
i only wanted to be true
and the truth is often though

tell me what can i do for you
to make it easier to deal with me
i only wanted to be true
and the truth is not enough

if the truth is not enough...
then how can i make it easier on you...
tell me what can i do for you if the truth is not enough...

eva and caroline, check your inbox!

vere, it doesn't mention Mustard Seeds so we have no way to think that's it... I hope we get a full recording so we can listen to the whole lyrics

That 'sounds' (reads) very familiar for some reason... I think I've heard some of these lyrics before... Maybe from the Barcelona vids? Or the iceland recordings? Not sure...

Lucky indeed. I'll try to write a review tomorrow...

I'm shot now!

I probably missed about 20-30 seconds at the start of the recording of the new song, so it's a short song, or a short version.
