I've met him 3 times.
Basically it was some brief banal pleaseantries interspersed with my kissing his ass over his music. Actually there was no ass kissing the second time.

I've met him a couple of times. He was very nice alright. I only had a decent conversation with him once, altho like Ian and MJ I was just crapping on about how great his music was... except I told him that I didn't like Blowers Daughter 2 BUT I DO NOW, I TAKE IT BACK DAMIEN, I'M SORRY!

I didn't speak to him (I'm shy you see) but saw him mingling with the crowd after his King Tuts gig in Glasgow. He had a big smile on his face and was just chatting to anyone who wanted to speak to him. I remember thinking, f**k he's a short-arse! thought that was tinged with just a touch af jealousy because my g/f at the time went all goo-goo eyed in his presence.

i just got a few word with him after the show in HMV... i probably sounded so stupid! wuz askin him if he'd be back round celbridge much over the summer! not as stupid as my mate tho, he started a conversation about the teachers in our school where damo went, asking him if he remembered them at all...it was so obviousdamo wasn't interested at all! altho it was towards the end of the night so he could be forgiven!

I think I came off a little better when I met Tomo and Lisa, and didn't have the time with Vyv to make a tit out of myself. Haven't met Shane.

I met Lou Reed once, too! I gave him something to sign and he asked me my name, and I said, "What?" and he said "What's your name?" duh. I was a spaz. That was 9 years ago. I met damien 3 times. Never really said much except the last time when I asked a bunch of questions about new songs and stuff. |

I've stood next to Damien twice while fans came up to him, but I have never said anything to him. I have chatted with Lisa though.

I met him and Vyviennebriefly at bonnaroo. He signed a picture of my ex-girlfriend. It was the only thing I had besides a dollar bill, and the picture of herwith his signature was a little more poetic for me. I hadn't even thought of bringing something for him to sign, never dreamed I would meet him. After the show, Vyvienne came right out into the audience area. Most of the people were gone, and she was just hanging out talking to someone, so I got a picture with her.She and Damienwere both real nice and normal like. After the pic with Vyvienne, I thanked her and started to walk away and she said "oh oh! be sure to color in my eyes!" in that cutevoice of her's. The whole experience just made my weekend. I met Damo when he did a solo in Boston last year. It was in a small coffee house type place. He sat down at the edge of the stage at some point and was about to light a cigarette when I almost literally jumped on him, eh....the opportunity. I wasn't very subtle and he looked rather scared when he saw me coming I'll never forget that look on his face! I didn't know Lisa wouldn't be there, so I had printed outa picture that I had hoped he would sign.It was a rather early one ofhim, Lisa and Glen performing at the Lobby a few years earlier.I had also printed out another one and first asked him to sign the letter for a friend in S.F. (Ana, one of the earliest eskimo friends ever). So we talked about Ana and how I found out about Damien from her and how we were both Frames fans, too, and then we talked about the picture from the Lobby and Damo started talking about the night of that gig, which he remembered extremely well. He practically took me back there by just talking about it. In the meantime, he almost burned a hole in the carpet because he was so absorbed he had forgotten all about the cigarette that he had left sitting perched on top of a bottle, but thankfully somebody bought an ashtray (this was a non-smoking place, btw).Out of the corner of my eyeI suddenly saw this line of 20 people that had formed behind me That's when I was quiteglad I had jumped on him first! He signed the two pictures and drew little pictures on both - which took him forever and he was quite concentrated and I didn't interrupt him and we didn't taklk at all during that time. Then I sent him scurrying around for CD's. He didn't have a merch table; he had the CD's in his shoulder bag, so I bought two copies of 'O' (he was still selling the Irish release at that time) and then forced myself to finally get up and leave. All along it was like we were sort of in our own bubble - it was an emotionally intense encounter and people who stood behind me said that Damien really started to shine more and more the longer he was talking with me. It's a little hard to describe. Must have been that "two Saggitarians on the loose" thing. Never had that with any of the other musos I met.
