Default Damien featured on David Hopkins' new album

David Hopkins' new album due out in November features a duet with Damien...

You can listen to the song "There Are Debts" on myspace www.myspace.com/davidhopkinsmusic
or stream the full album on David's official website http://davidhopkins.net/

There's also Amy Kuney doing backing vocals...

And I don't know if this is a reliable source but, according to this
David and Damien are also talking about touring together in 2010.

I have to agree with you, cille. I found his lyrics a bit clunky, awkward and difficult on the ear.

So is this who he has been collaborating with all this time? Or was this just a 1-time deal?

i was under the impression he was working with joel

im sure this was just a favour for a musician who seems to need all the help he can get..

he's supposedly working with joel, earl harvin, thomas dybahl, melanie laurent (his gf), possibly something with david arnold again (they wrote a song together according to mr. arnold's twitter anyway) and now this guy (who i never heard of before) he's gettin' around..

^never heard about that twitter from david Arnold!!!!! Twitter is too hard to search for me

Other people that have been collaborating with Damien include Helgi Jonsson (Icelandic singer/songwriter), Carmen Rizzo, and Joseph Karnes from Pedestrian

it's not very searchable, i agree. i just follow david arnold hoping for news about damien (because frankly he's kind of a spammer lol) and sometimes it pays off. i messaged him once and asked what was up with his irish cousin and he replied and said he was going to see him in a few weeks and he would see what was up then. he's nice.

here's the tweet:

@DavidGArnold on a bus in dublin driving down to meet the fragrant Damien Rice to write a song2:46 AM Sep 19th from web

interesting that damien is fragrant

I can't get it out of my head already. Very pretty and quite haunting musically. I thought there were actually some nice lyrical flourishes in this one.

I may also be biased somewhat because a new ballad with Damo's comforting voice is exactly the kind of thing I need right now due to some recent love troubles.

The other songs veered into smelly cheese territory more than once for me though.

ok, back on topic: such a sad tune! it hurts me at some point. and i think damien has improved his voice a bunch, and as some of you said, it´s so good to listen to him again.
