I'm hearing that the tour is going to be a few very select nights, as we probably expected. I am already terrified that, as is with a lot of concerts now, it will be almost impossible to get tickets first-hand. So if anyone from Mondo is reading, can we please, please, please have an igloo presale?

Exclusive first listen of Damien Rice's new album My Favourite Faded Fantasy
After eight years away from the recording studios, Damien Rice has returned with one of the albums of the year, says David Smyt

The article also mentions that there will probably not be a big tour.

When Arcade Fire released Reflektor, anyone who pre-ordered it through their site received a code for a ticket presale. Granted, their tour was a LOT larger than I expect his will be, but perhaps there is a chance for something similar? Regardless, I have pre-ordered the deluxe set through warnermusic.com

I've spoken to some people involved in the ticket industry (no direct knowledge or anything to Damien's people) and just looking at a timeline, it seems most likely there are going to be a handful of record release shows, then a tour in the new year of theatres the size he played 2004-2007.

There's not enough time to promote and sell those larger venues for gigs in November. Likely mid-October, in the runup to the album release, they'll announce a full out tour for early next year, giving them two or three months to sell those tickets.

Again, that's just me synthesizing some industry wisdom and experience with no specific knowledge of anything Warner is thinking.

Yes, just a handful of shows now... and then a new proper full tour announced in November-December.
It all makes sense... This will be a tour before the release date, so just a preview for the new album and the occasion to get the reaction of the audience to the new songs.
For this reason, I think it could be another solo tour, and then get the full band for the long tour in 2015

i'm reacting very poorly to the dates that were just announced. i'll be in new york just a few days after him, and berlin a few weeks later. and i can't make the toronto or chicago dates either because they're in the middle of the week. DJSAKLDSJADKLSADSA.

ps. hello. i've been away.

Camarillas has also been confirmed as the bonus track, not sure if this has been picked up on Eskimo Friends yet:

"Each box also comes with a digital album plus the bonus track ‘camarillas’ delivered on album release." (from here: http://www.damienrice.com/5000-limited-edition-boxes/ )

Does anyone see any hints that the fan-named "Forgotten Deers" song could be on the album. I'm glad to see The Box on there, since it was obviously a great, fully formed song. But 'Forgotten Deers' sounds like one of the best, saddest, deepest songs he's ever made...and I've been hoping for years we'd get a full version.

That just leaves "Mustard Seeds" unaccounted for, then.
