I went. He talked for a bit before playing the song about his concerns when writing it. I don’t want to misquote him so hopefully someone recorded it and will post it soon.

Heart wrenching and beautiful. Had a totally different feel from the Santa Barbara performance.

Oh good you found it. Glad I didn't try and explain all that.

It makes me think of a quote from the Dalai Lama when someone asked him about nuclear disarmament and he answered "Disarm your own mind"

I thought the film was very sad but hopefully raises awareness about the issue.
I love the song though.

liked the part when he says he wasn't connecting with the lyrics and was about to call it off but then he realized the lyrics made sense at the personal level and so that he connected with the song, so basically...

thanks marti this is so much better (well, "better" sounds wrong in this context to me, but still) than the story in my head.

2m 15s:
"I realised that there wasn't a single thing at all, that I thought China was doing, that I thought was, maybe agressive, or that I thought was unfair..."

What?? Am I misunderstanding that?

I think what he was trying to say was that he couldn't point fingers and say that China was aggressive and unfair because he isn't China. However I can't say for sure what he meant because I'm not Damien. He needs to give another performance and talk about it so he won't be misquoted or misunderstood!

^^ of course i´m not speaking for damien, but what i think he meant was he wasn´t thinking a single s**t cause it hasn´t had a direct effect on him at all, and then, when he needed to star thinking about it, those were the first thoughts that came to his mind...

but i´m quite sure i´m totally rambling on... so, i beg your pardon.

I figured it out... it was an incomplete thought. He just forgot to say the end of the sentence: "...that I haven't been guilty of doing to someone myself"

Hey, was this ever released? (Not a youtube clip)

I saw above that there was a megaupload link, but it doesn't work any more.

Does anyone have this? I would love to hear it. All I have is a snippet compilation thing stripped from the movie's menu screens I believe.

Much appreciated!!!!

Ah, okay. Thanks for the info, borneoman.

I emailed the makers of the film asking for any info on the track so... Here's hoping.
