Default Damien on new Maria Doyle Kennedy album

Just a tiny blurb from Hot Press...

Maria Doyle Kennedy is to perform at the sixth annual Oscar Wilde: Honoring The Irish In Film beano, which takes place on February 24 in Los Angeles’ Ebell Club. She’ll be accompanied on guitar by her husband and producer Kieran Kennedy.

It’s been a busy year for Doyle Kennedy who, in addition to assembling a new album, has been appearing in the new series of Dexter as the psycho killer with a heart’s nanny. You can also catch her in one of our favourite venues, De Barra’s in Clonakility, on December 28 with Ultan Conlon supporting.

This year’s guests of honour at the invite-only, pre-Academy Awards party are casting agents Ros and John Hubbard. "I met Ros and John more than 20 years ago and have been completely in love with them both ever since,” says Doyle Kennedy who got her acting big break 20-years ago when the Hubbards cast her in The Commitments. “I could not be more delighted that the US-Ireland Alliance is honouring them in this way.”

Other films they’ve cast include The Lord Of The Rings, The Bourne Ultimatum and Green Zone.

Due in the New Year, Maria’s Sing album finds her teaming up with the likes of John Prine, Damien Rice and Paul Brady.
