Well, all I can say is what I've already said really: "ha!"

His tiny, ridiculous band doesn't even play in bars anymore! Haven't heard of them for months... *evil laughs* No taste, I tell you, either in music or in girls...

I went to a Glen Hansard/Mic Christopher gig in a pub in Lep (or something like that) in West Cork in september 2001. Great gig and then they said that Damien Rice was coming as well to play some songs. He, Lisa and Tomo played three or four songs, Damien fiddled with Glens distortion peddle a lot, and i was a fan.

i was visiting some friends in maine and shopping around some random music store when i saw the packaging for "o". i'm a sucker for unique packaging, so i wrote down damien's name in the little notebook i carry around and went home and researched. idownloaded a random song off the internet ("the blower's daughter") andi bought the cd later that day. the rest is history.Edited by: samuelle

I first heard of Damien Rice in Paris. I was working in a scottish pub there for a summer, myself and one of the scottish lads were looking through one of the irish girls cds and found "O", we put it on and fell in love with it immediately. Infact we loved it so much that the customers used to walk in and give out sh*t cos that's all we played in the pub 24/7!

Yes, I did. It's very confusing. I thought it was you.

My guess is, though, that Theo doesn't realize that avatars are an individual thing and one should ask permission before even thinking of using somebody else's.

Nice to see you,anyway!

Well I had just broken up with my girlfriend of two years . Anyway that night I got very drunk , drowning my sorrows with a good mate. At the end of the night I ended up at a party were someone started playing O. Each song on the album hit a chord with me and I bought the album soon after . Now its one of my favourite records right up there with blood on the tracks.

well i know that this topic has already been discussed but i have just recently gotten into DR...i too randomly saw his video on vh1 n when i saw it i dunno there was just something about it...i got the chills n i just had to go dnl his songs...then i saw it on Alias, my fav show, n i quicklybought the cd the next day...i can understand many of ur feelings about new comers and maybe u feel that we aren't TRUE fans possibly cuz i've been in that position before also but i think we all just need to have an open mind and hopefully we'll all get something out of this i know i have so far...yea so basicallythink damien rice is amazing

my friend played a gig with the band (back in umm..2001 i think) and well her+her sister have been big into them since then so i was, naturally enough handed O in a rather successful effort to convert me.
