Lads,

I wish ye wouldn't send such brash emails to these people - It just gets their back up (as is proof from those replies) and makes it pretty much impossible to reason with them. A well worded polite email works much better than questioning their morality...

oh but i think i was being quite polite - trying to go after the case rather than the man... did you find my emails nasty, framesaver? i didn't mean to question his morality, just the morality of what he has done here - you don't see me calling him names or anything (except for the santa and the sorry ass part). oh yeah, i did write 'what kind of person are you' in my first email...hm, maybe that was wrong, i really didn't mean to do anything but make him reconsider his actions.. was i being impolite???

See I know these folks will take any opportunity to be confrontational and try and pin you as being irrational. The best way is to be totally cold and emotionless. Then they don't really know what to do. Not a criticism of you cille, just a heads up to anybody who plans to mail these guys - Don't give them ANY material to work with.

:-) i didn't take it as a criticism, i was just interested in your assessment as i also figured it'd be better to not get nasty on him. guess i did get a bit too heated up and emotional (that "i'm like santa claus" remark just boiled me up!) -i'll try the colder approach next time

please join me in reporting the above posted item - it's no.
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%">
<T>
<TR bgColor=#d6dcfe>
<TD noWrap align=right>4032921499</TD>
<TD align=right></TD></TR>

you need to be registered, and then you go to the link posted in mestonf's first post of this thread and there's a link called 'report'

- and then write this item no:
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%">
<T>
<TR bgColor=#d6dcfe>
<TD noWrap align=right>4032921499</TD>
<TD align=right></TD></TR>
<TR>
<TD vAlign=center bgColor=#9999cc colSpan=6></TD></TR></T></TABLE>(argh, sorry, i copy-pasted the no from the blue line and it seems to stick )and what your concern is (that you happen to know it's a bootleg) and submit it

that's it :-)

Seeing as eBay seem to be totally useless at listening to requests for items to be removed, shouldn't we create a few new eBay accounts and bid on the items ourlselves (with some ridiculous amount that wouldn't be outbid) and then completely ignore them when they go looking for payment. I am not sure if that's the best way to deal with these people. We would be violating ebay policies which would make us guilty as well.

yeah, i had that thought too. but it wouldn't be good to break teh rules ourselves. so maybe if enough of us complaint about a particular item???

actually i'm right now writing a mail to the bidder of the item mentioned above to tell him how to get a free the gigs for free instead, etc. not ina hostile manner, of course, just a friendlyinfo bit :-)

Don't forget your bid is a legally binding contract.

yeah, so lets just get old-fashioned and report them through the usual channels. who knows - if many people complaint about the same item/seller then they might take action faster

I already reported the item. Do you think we should create another topic and list/update the item numbers on a regular basis?
