Default Did anyone see Lisa play at the Electric Picnic?

I missed it and only read about her playing on Jim Caroll's blog this morning ...

Quote:
(8) I saw a rake of Irish acts on Sunday morning. Fight Like Apes suffered from appalling sound and looked a little over-awed by the big stage and crowd. Halves have oodles and oodles of lovely quiet-loud-quiet moments. Si Schroeder is sounding more and more cocky and confident with every extra gig he does. The Flaws have been through the wringer already with record label woes but they’ve plenty of sturdy power-punk songs which would sound good on your radio. But the real Irish winner on Sunday was Lisa Hannigan. Now unshackled from Damien Rice, her short, breezy and assured set on the Body & Soul stage was enough to make you realise where the real star-power was in that duo. Backed by a band who knew when to step back as well as step up, Hannigan’s songs are a promising combination of new-school folk and old-school pop. The next stage for her will be an album in early 2008.
Carroll knows his stuff so it's a good sign if he likes her. Tomo was playing drums with her.

Paul Noonan and Lisa playing together? This is like a dream...

What songs did she play?

I find it peculiar that only Damien doesn't get along with Lisa (and vice versa I suppose). Obviously, everyone else in the band is the bestest friends with both Damien and Lisa, and quite literally "support" them both. Why can't mommy and daddy work it out?

And yes, she is a beaut.

You could well be right, she's 26 now and not counting the feiseanna and singing competitions she did at school she's has been a gigging musician since
she was 18. She's really talented and people have been asking her about making her own album for years. Perhaps it was just time to spread her wings.

A voicemail!!! Whooo!

Unfortunately, I'm not privvy to that kind of information so I'm just going to take your word for it. The gesture would have been sweet had he not kicked her out of the band completely to her oblivion a few months earlier. But just for the heck of it, Lisa should revamp O for one of her shows and rename the songs to:

Insensitive
Ice Berg
Damien, You Blow !
Gutterballz
Fake Boobies
Amie? What About *Me*?!
Up Yours, Dahling
Cold Shower
I Remember it well, the last time I saw your face...
Ex-kimo

It'd be fun.

I just found this video of Lis and Paul singing 'Some Surprise'. It's only a short clip and not really good quality, but it's Lisa!!!!
