Default The Performance of Amy Winehouse on Tuesday's Other Voices

What a great show with Scott Matthews and all but i think the highlight on Tuesday was Amy Winehouse. She has an amazing voice and I think she should be checked out.

I think im gonna get her album. Inspiring

sean ...im wonderin this...you would prolly know...

Is it fairly standard to do One irish gig, One northern irish gig and 7 or 8 UK gigs?

because i noticed the pattern between Scott Matthews gigs listed on ticketmaster
and Amy Winehouse's gigs on ticket master

is that a typical UK tour or does a proper tour mean a lot more than that....?

That's usually how it goes alright. Bloc Party and CSS played shows in the Ambassador, they had big UK tours too. Touring in Ireland means Dublin, Cork, Galway, Belfast and sometimes Carlow or Kildare.

Oh, lucky you! Amy recently did a showcase in NY. You can read about it here, though you've probably seen the videos on youtube.

I'm listening to her every day I just ordered Frank, which I haven't heard yet.

I did see the video's on YouTube (to be honest I've been a bit obsessive after seeing her live It was a night gig, so I was a bit worried about her living up to her reputation, but she was very well behaved hehe. It was a short gig (55 minutes or so) and she played all of Back to Black and 1 song of Frank as well as a cover of The Zutons' Valerie, which was really good. Her band was really tight as well)

I really like Frank as well, but I prefer the old Motown sound of Back to Black.

YES! Your finger crossing helped: I got my ticket today! Yeah, it's always amazing when you discover an artist and then you open the newspaper or internet and see that they are playing in your town next week or month!

I saw the Amsterdam clips on youtube. Te reviews from Birmingham didn't sound too great, though. I hope I don't end up expecting too much.

Well, i went to see her yesterday in Dublin. I loved the show and she has a brilliant band. I really enjoyed myself. Though I was hoping for a girl with a more attitude, but in stead we have a trashy looking shy gal on stage. Also, I think that she didn't really enjoy herself. She didn't really work to win over the audience. But that can be just my opinion.
I did manage to get a play list and took loads of pics

Thanks for the review, Marc So, the music was good, was it? From what I've read/heard so far her shows seem uneven. I've read several times that there was something mechanical to her performance and then at other times she let's it rip.

I'd love to see the pictures you took once they are up. Where will I be able to find them? Will you post a link?

I just bought her first album and have listened to that almost every day

Personally, I can't stand her, but you guys seem to, so just thought I'd let you know she's on BBC1 at 11.05 tonight on BBC1 Sessions. That's all the paper says about it.

Cool, thanks.

It now says "To watch our exclusive interview with Amy Winehouse come back here on Tuesday morning." on the BBC 1 Sessions web site.

I did download the stream. Is this different? Well, I'm going to download it anyway, thanks.

The second half of this gig is absolutely smoking! I've already listened to it four or five times.
