Bastard now

the acoustics are really amazing in this studio

and Nic is really good at interviewing Damien! I´d say Bastard is a pretty old song though, despite what Damo says, he already did it at those first Icelandic sessions

Yeah you can hear the echo in the room. So I guess WFUV had the secret concert?

Leonard Cohen song he just referenced. "There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in."

Dude I love how he's talking about this. "I used to be a purist. I had my way and thats the way it was." He's gone through a big transformation, it's obvious. Very cool. I'm happy for him. He seems very well-adjusted now.

nice listening indeed! but i really think extremes are not good, in any way... like "i´m struggling to find problems in the world"... that can lead anyone to a disappointment at any minute, and i´m the one who sees everything trough the eyes of love, i´m very (!!!) naive!

Sure, I agree that part was a little extreme and I bet he just used that to make his point.

Change You is much much better in this kinda "bare" version with minimal guitar and no strings

too many things in a single day, I'm a little bit lost.
eva, vere, thanks for the recording! i just downloaded and i was trying to figure out the setlist for both. So at WFUV he only played Change You and Rootless Tree? Plus Bastard, cause we have the video (but no audio?)...

and then on KCNS:
- Rootless Tree
- The Greatest Bastard
- Trusty and True
- Change You

right?

anyway, vere, you did great with the recording!!

this was the setlist of the secret LA gig, so we miss Colour, Trusty and The Box

I Don't Want to Change You
Colour Me In
The Box
Rootless Tree
Trusty and True
The Greatest Bastard

so, the songs on the WFUV session are the same from the KCSN one, but different from MBE (change you)

All of them sound as in an echoey, empty room, but the video of TGB for WFUV is with audience. Assuming that was the secret gig, we're missing all the others from that setlist

Thanks for clearing that up for me, Eva! I'm a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of performances we got these days. It might have been like that before, but with a community so willing to share and adept at all tricks of the trade I am actually struggling to keep up with Damien's output. There could be worse problems. :-)

Don't get it, why would WFUV play the songs off the Nic show if they have the exclusive clips from the secret gig?

The Nic show didn't have audience tho, right? And the WFUV video definitely did. Hmmmm.

I don't know if this has been posted here yet but here's a pic of Nic and Damien on the roof of the studio last month.

maybe he just played a session for all radio stations that were there.

Rootless Tree and IDWTCY are definitely the same on both WFUV and KCSN

Whoever posted the link to the audio interview with Nic Harcourt - THANK YOU. Damien
Rice sounds so good - upbeat. I guess he's in a really good place. Wonder if his next album will be very different. You guys are all amazing at posting these links - keep them coming.

but I´m kinda surprised he´s not doing any of the tv shows this week, you know, Letterman and all, this is release week (in the US), and is there for the new US leg of the tour...
