hi everyone,

a lot of you helped me in my other post about
recording. this is a new one and i need more help.

the show tonight in lawrence was amazingly
incredible. and i was able to stealth the show. the
show sounds pretty good, but the bass is high.

i imagine i can clean that up when i make the
conversion from minidisc to shn and wav. but how
can i do more on the recording side?

once again, this is my equipment:
Sound Professionals Miniature Binaural Microphone
SP-BMC3
Sound Professionals Slimline Battery Module
SP-SPSB1
sony minidisc, mz-r700

i had the bass rolloff set to 107Hz, as others had
suggested. i was seating in the front row of the
balcony and the mics hung down a bit. i was
probably 20 ft from the speakers.

knowing all these things, how can i get rid of more
bass?

any help is appreciated, the faster the better. i'm
going to try and record the st. louis show tomorrow
night (thursday).

if you dont have any problem with the recordings peaks that is ok.

You can lower basses with programs like wavelab or similar.

Increase the frequency of the roll-off if you want, but it's just as easy bass to remove in post editing. My recommendation for software would be Cool Edit Pro, but even Nero can do Graphic Equalizing for you.

i use cool edit pro - there are functions such as bass boost and bass roll off that might be good for the post prdution end of it. if you want to send me the uncut WAV of the show i can do it for you
